With Flexible Lead-in To Contact Patents (Class 338/168)
  • Patent number: 6445279
Abstract: A variable resistance device is provided. Instead of a conventional planar-type structure or a three-dimensional structure using an elastic strip, a variable resistance device with a three-dimensional structure using easy-assembling parts, such as a mount and a spring, is adapted. The easy-assembling parts would not be deformed permanently so that the reliability of the variable resistance device is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 5257004
Abstract: A pre-set variable passive element can prevent faulty insulation between itself and a conductive board. A cylindrical member extended higher than a adjusting member is made of ceramic around the adjusting member which is rotatably fitted for adjustment of the value of resistance of the pre-set variable resistor element, the forming of the cylindrical member being integrally formed with a main part also formed in a ceramic. The cylindrical member is fitted into an opening bored in a stator board mainly of a steel plate, and the pre-set variable resistor is fitted on the stator board. The adjusting member which is contacted by a contact, by which the value of resistance of the pre-set variable resistor element is determined, and an inside periphery of the opening free from any insulating treatment is securely insulated by the cylindrical member.

  • Patent number: 5134383
Abstract: A variable resistor includes a sliding member having an arm in contact with a substantially circular arc-shaped resistor provided on a substrate and a driver plate portion from which the arm extends. The sliding member is rotatable by a driver, the center of the resistor being a supporting point of the sliding member. The driver plate portion of the sliding member is substantially conical and has driver grooves. The arm is connected to the driver plate portion at both sides of a driver groove adjacent an end of the driver groove. Adjustment of a resistance value is performed by rotating the sliding member with a driver tip inserted in the driver grooves.

  • Patent number: 5047746
Abstract: A wiper assembly for a potentiometer, particularly a rotary potentiometer having a rotor for carrying the wiper assembly along a resistive element, includes a metal plate attached to the rotor. A strip of metal formed integrally with the plate is bent back over itself out of the plane of the plate to form a cantilevered spring arm having a free end. Attached to the free end is an array of resilient, conductive wires arranged in a parallel, side-by-side relationship, each of the wires forming a resilient, cantilevered wiper finger. The spring arm and the array of wire wiper fingers attached to it form a hybrid wiper arm assembly. Preferably, the plate includes a first such hybrid wiper arm assembly arranged to function as a wiper for the resistive element in the potentiometer, and a second such wiper arm assembly arranged to function as a wiper for a conductive collector element in the potentiometer.

  • Patent number: 4812803
Abstract: A rotary potentiometer having a casing resistor support held in the casing, a resistor layer on the support, a spring carrier supported for rotation in the casing, and a slider spring fastened at the carrier in sliding contact with the layer. The spring carrier is coupled to a shaft whose angular position is to be detected by the potentiometer.

  • Patent number: 4739300
Abstract: A rotary type electronic device has a stationary casing and an axially slidable and angularly rotatable shaft disposed in the casing. The end of the shaft is assembled to the end face of a detentable (heart-shaped) cam so that the shaft can be pushed axially to engage and disengage from a detent position within the casing. The end of the shaft is formed with a tapered conical tip portion, and the end face of the cam is formed with a central insertion hole, having a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the conical tip portion, and with cutout portions on opposite sides adjacent the insertion hole forming deformable bridging portions therebetween which deform to allow insertion of the conical tip portion of the shaft in a direction perpendicular to the end face.
