Plural Gravity Path, Plural Feed, And/or Discharge Patents (Class 34/167)
  • Patent number: 11067337
Abstract: A grain dryer unload system is presented that facilitates operation of a discharge system independent of a metering system. A motor connects to an axle that connects to the discharge system, which may be a drag chain, a belt or an auger. The axle also connects to a metering system. A clutch mechanism is connected to an end of the axle and is positioned between the discharge system and the metering system. When the clutch mechanism is in an engaged position, the motor simultaneously operates the metering system and the discharge system. However, when the clutch mechanism is in a disengaged position, the motor operates the discharge system while the metering system does not operate. This arrangement facilitates easier cleaning of the grain dryer without introducing the fines into the grain or a connected grain storage device.

Abstract: A two-deck apparatus, one deck above the other, is provided for enabling drying of approximately twice as much material with very little increase in heat used to dry the material, when compared to a single deck dryer. The second or upper deck, in operation, experiences a greater pressure below that deck than the pressure above the deck. Solid material flows into the top of the apparatus from above, and then from the upper deck to the lower deck through what is essentially a one-way valve, with air flow moving from below the lower deck through the upper deck, without impeding the material flow downwardly in the apparatus. • Patent number: 6133549
Abstract: A heat treatment furnace and conveyor with multi-conveyance, wherein the top of the furnace has a feeder and the bottom of which has a disposal. The inside of the furnace has a number of conveying units, each unit is in circular status lined up and move with the feeder at the top of the first pallet, and the end of each pallet is connected to the beginning of the next pallet, and the end of the last pallet is connected to the disposal. This reduces the width of the furnace and extend the length of conveying which enhances the heat treatment processing time. The furnace is also divided into several sections, as a heating section and a cooling section. The heating section is equipped with electric heating elements while the cooling section is not. The pallet belt is in a flat surface with some ribs to prevent objects from sticking or sliding off.

  • Patent number: 6122841
Abstract: Apparatus for the drying of particulate material in superheated steam in a closed vessel (1). The vessel consists of a number of upwardly open, elongated and substantially vertical processing cells (2) which are placed around a central part with a heat exchanger (3). The last of these processing cells (2) has a closed bottom and is the discharge cell (4), while the remainder (2) have bottoms (5) through which steam can permeate. The processing cells (2), which lie at the side of one another, stand in mutual connection through openings (11) at the lowermost ends of the cells, so that the particulate material which is dried by the superheated steam which is blown up from the heat exchanger (3) through the steam-permeable bottoms (5) can pass from one processing cell (2) to the next through said openings (11).

Abstract: Apparatus and a method for de-watering a bead suspension of fragile beads having a high water content suspended in a liquid includes a staging vat, a metering vat, and a de-watering vat. The application of pressurized gas to the staging vat causes the bead suspension to move up a central feed tube which extends from the staging vat to the metering vat. The bead suspension is gravity fed from the metering vat through a transfer pipe and into the de-watering vat. The bottom portion of the de-watering vat has both an inner wall and an outer wall wherein the upper portion of the inner wall has perforations and the bottom portion is solid. Upon entering the de-watering vat, the bead suspension pours a short distance onto an inverted spreader cone. • Patent number: 5709035
Abstract: A counter flow cooler in which feed material is fed into the top inlet of the cooler and dispersed into a plurality of cooling chambers. At the bottom of each cooling chamber is a discharge grid which will discharge feed material uniformly over the area of the cooling chamber. The discharge rate of this discharge grid can be adjusted to the desired throughput of the cooler. Air is drawn through the bottom of the discharge grid and passes up through the feed material in a counter flow manner. That is, while the product is passing down through the cooler, the air is passing up through the feed material, carrying away heat and possibly. A feed controller is used to selectively direct feed material into the plurality of cooling chambers. When a second batch of feed material is to be introduced into the cooler, feed material to the first cooling chamber is stopped and all the feed material is directed into the second cooling chamber.

  • Patent number: 5611150
Abstract: A centrifugal pellet dryer is provided which has a housing, a generally cylindrical mesh member vertically disposed within the housing and a rotor that is coaxial with the mesh member. The rotor has lifters which tend to move a slurry of pellets and water upwardly and outwardly relative to the cylindrical mesh member so that water moving radially through the mesh member is separated from the pellets which are retained by the mesh member. The rotor has a hollow interior portion that communicates with the bottom of the rotor so that the slurry of pellets of water are introduced into the dryer through the hollow interior of the rotating rotor. The slurry of pellets and water is distributed uniformly about the periphery of the mesh member by the rotating rotor and the rotation of the rotor enhances the centrifugal force of the slurry to initially dewater the slurry more effectively as the water moves radially outwardly through the mesh member.
