Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for providing a filter to prevent contamination of vacuum pumps during use with freeze dryers. The system and method comprising of a vacuum pump connected to a freeze dryer, the vacuum pump evacuating pressure from the freeze dryer; the vacuum pump connected to a coalescing filter at least partially collects water vapor and the particulate gas, whereby the particulates in the particulate gas are at least partially separated from the gas, the coalescing filter further separating the oil from the water and particulates, whereby the oil is rejuvenated for use with the oil composition; an oil control valve to control pressure in the system and maintain a level of oil in the vacuum pump; a drain valve to enable draining of impurities, and a final filter that injects air into oil exchanged between the sedimentary filter and vacuum pump.
Abstract: A device for controlling the dehydration operation during a freeze-drying treatment comprises a freeze-drying chamber (1) connected to a vacuum line, and a gas analyzer, for analyzing the gases contained in the chamber. The gas analyzer comprises a gas ionization system (8) comprising a plasma source (13) in contact with the gases, which plasma source is combined with a generator (15) capable of generating a plasma from said gases, and a system for analyzing the ionized gases, comprising a radiation sensor (17) located close to the plasma generation zone and connected to an apparatus (18) for analyzing the change in the radiative spectrum emitted by the plasma. According to the invention, the device includes a means (16) for repeatedly turning the plasma source (13) on and off. The device may further include an optical port (25) placed between the gas ionization system (8) and the freeze-drying chamber (1).
Abstract: This invention is concerned with a distributive ejection apparatus for liquid material in a freeze-drying apparatus for foodstuffs, medicaments, etc., wherein the liquid material adjusted from the starting material for foodstuffs, medicaments, etc. is caused to freeze onto the inner wall surface of the upright cylindrical tube, and the distributive ejection of the liquid material onto the tube at the time of its freeze-drying by sublimation of the moisture content in the material under the vacuum condition may be done in the state of supplying the liquid material over the entire surface of the inner wall surface of the tube with a substantially uniform thickness.
Abstract: A process is provided for freeze-drying medicaments and foodstuffs comprising dissolving the foodstuffs or medicaments in a solvent, introducing the solution formed into a shell comprising a desiccating chamber of a shell-tube freeze-drying device to cause the solution to freeze in a tubular layer, and crushing and comminuting the freeze-dried liquid with a comminuting device to obtain a powder product.
Abstract: A process and apparatus for freeze drying of liquid material in a vessel in which the vessels are moved automatically through various stages including loading vessels onto racks, washing vessels in an inverted position, sterilizing vessels and racks, filling vessels with a liquid material, rotating the vessels and the liquid material contained within each vessel at a speed that allows the liquid to form a shell against the inner surface of the vessel, subjecting the vessels and the liquid material contained therein to freezing conditions sufficient to freeze the material into the form of a shell and then moving the rack and the vessels containing the frozen material through a vacuum drying chamber in which the frozen liquid material is dried.

Abstract: A process for deliquifying a solid particulate containing liquid waste stream including organic contaminants produced during the production of acrylonitrile comprising feeding the waste stream onto the outer surface of a heated drum(s) rotating the drum(s) to facilitate removal of the liquid to produce a substantially solid material which adheres to the surface of the drum(s) and is subsequently removed.
