Abstract: A number of different approaches are described for minimizing or preventing false alarms. In one case, override panels are used such as locally near or in the protected space or remotely at a security desk, for example. These override panels are used to deactivate or block the generation of a fire alarm signal in the case where the occupants or a management personnel recognizes that the fire alarm signal should not be generated. In this way, an alarm verification step is included. In another aspect, additional, contextual information is used to characterize or adjust when fire alarm signals are generated. This contextual information can be generated from sources that are not typically used in the generation of the fire alarm signal but instead are based on other sources of the information concerning the protected space.
Abstract: A timer control device controlling at least one timer-controlled device having a timer built therein via a network, the time control device including: a timer setting unit setting an operating time and an operating method of the timer built in the at least one timer-controlled device; a timer absolute time provider providing a standard time of an area in which the timer control device is located; a control message generator generating a control message by combining the operating time and operating method of the timer of the timer setting unit with the standard time of the timer absolute time provider; and a control message transmitter transmitting the control message generated by the control message generator to the at least one timer-controlled device.

Abstract: A closure cap (10) is provided with an audible warning when the cap (10) is removed from a container (12). The closure cap (10) preventing the inadvertent consumption of pharmaceutical products, bleaches or other products by children or other minors. In use, the closure cap (10) may be provided with child resilient means and can be screwed on to any standard container (12). When the cap (10) is removed from the container (12), mechanical energy is expended by the user and such mechanical energy is converted to sufficient electrical energy using a piezoelectrical element (14) contained in the cap (10). The electrical energy generated is then conditioned and stored using signal conditioning electronics (26) such that and alarm signal of sufficient level is sounded.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a telephone remote control timer having a control circuit board inside a housing thereof. The control circuit board contains an AC power source circuit, a stabilized rectification circuit, a ringing circuit, a signal receiving circuit, a holding circuit, a microprocessor, a timing circuit and a reset circuit. The timing data can be transmitted to the microprocessor of the present invention through a telephone line for a convenient timing control in starting or stopping the power supply.
