  • Patent number: 11954951
Abstract: A data collecting system including a component assembled in an electric vehicle, a data collector connected to the component through a bus of the electric vehicle, and a debug server connected to the data collector is disclosed. The component collects different data from the electric vehicle and performs different sending procedures respectively under different situations including: a regular sending-procedure sends regular data to the bus based on a regular frequency; a high-speed sending-procedure starts collecting high-speed data and sending the same to the bus based on a high-speed frequency after a condition is satisfied; and a high-resolution sending-procedure sends high-resolution data to the bus after an error occurs, wherein the high-resolution data is collected within a period of time before and after the error occurs. The data collector collects these data from the bus. The debug server analyzes the data collected by the data collector.

Abstract: Conventional television audience measurements are made with diaries or by imaging the area in front of a television and trying to identify the people in the images watching television. Unfortunately, diaries are only accurate if the audience members record entries in them, and image-based techniques are intrusive. The present techniques address these problems by using a viewer's wearable device to measure a viewer's proximity to a television. The wearable device emits or receives low-power beacon signals; measurements of the signal strength are used to calculate the viewer's distance to the television. If the viewer is close enough to the television and the television is on, the viewer may be engaged with the content on the television. This system is simple, non-intrusive, and can used to measure engagement with each television in a multi-television household.

Abstract: A smoke detector system includes a shielding structure enclosing a smoke detector, smoke detector circuit board or other contents. The shielding structure seals the contents from smoke, exhaust gasses, dust, chemicals, moisture, insects and other airborne particulates. The shielding structure is maintained sealed by a thermal bolt containing a thermal element which changes its state at a threshold temperature indicative of a developing fire and breaks the sealing of the shielding structure once the predetermined temperature has been reached. A lid of the shielding structure is held in place against a mounting plate by the thermal bolt. When the thermal bolt reaches the threshold temperature, it loses the integrity and allows the lid separation from the mounting plate to automatically open the shielding structure, thus allowing an internally mounted smoke detector or smoke detector circuit board to monitor the presence of smoke.

Abstract: Alert systems provide increased functionality and interactive operation by use of subsystems (240, 250, 260) that are coupled between the GUI/rules engine (220, 210) and the alert devices (248, 258, 268), wherein the subsystems (240, 250, 260,) provide for bidirectional flow of information. Therefore, in one aspect, the GUI (220) displays functional and operational parameters of associated alert devices (248, 258, 268) in real time and thus allows an administrator rule building without knowledge of installed devices. In another aspect, as the alert system displays and controls all associated alert devices (248, 258, 268) via the GUI (220), contemplated alert systems allows activation of multiple and distinct alert devices (248, 258, 268) using a single user interface. Viewed from another perspective, contingency and area specific alerts can be triggered from the GUI (220) using only point and click action.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for determining operation of an openable barrier and direction of movement of a person through an opening controlled by the barrier. A method includes detecting with a hinge sensor a closed position for the barrier, the hinge sensor being mounted to a hinge of the barrier, determining with the hinge sensor when the barrier changes position from the closed position to an open position, detecting with at least one motion sensor motion of an object in proximity to the opening, and determining a direction of movement of the object through the opening based on whether the motion is detected before or after detecting the change in position of the barrier.

  • Patent number: 10733449
Abstract: A monitoring system includes an imaging device, a controller, storage, and a notifying section. The imaging device captures an image of an imaging area to generate captured image data indicating a captured image. The controller detects events based on the captured image data. The events include a pre-event and a post-event detected after the pre-event has ended. The controller changes a first flag from an off state to an on state upon detecting the pre-event, and holds the first flag in the on state even after the pre-event has ended. The controller changes the second flag from the off state to the on state upon detecting the post-event, and directs the notifying section to notify of consecutive event occurrence information indicating that consecutive events have occurred.

  • Patent number: 10708749
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for validating and supplementing emergency call information removing private information. A Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) receives an emergency (e.g., 911) call from a mobile device. Parts of the emergency call are processed to identify an emergency call location. Characteristics of the emergency call are combined with characteristics of other signals to identify an emergency call event, including an event location. The emergency call event is sent to the PSAP. Prior to receiving phase II data, and possibly even prior to receiving phase I data, the PSAP receives the event. The PSAP tailors dispatch of emergency resources responding to the emergency call based on characteristics of the event, including the event location. A privacy infrastructure spans signal ingestion, event detection, and event notification and protects the integrity of private information.

  • Patent number: 10701544
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for validating and supplementing emergency call information removing private information. A probability that an emergency call originated from a location is derived from features of a normalized signal version of the emergency call. An additional normalized signal is accessed within a specified distance of the location. The location is validated from features of the additional signal. An event is detected from the features of the normalized signal version of the emergency call based on the validated location. The validated location is associated with an obtained event truthfulness probability for the event. The event is sent to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). A privacy infrastructure spans signal ingestion, event detection, and event notification and protects the integrity of private information.

Abstract: An alarm handling and viewing system includes an alarm display interface that enables the different alarms generated by the same control module, safety system module, device, etc., to be handled and viewed in a manner that is different than each other and/or that is different than the display parameters specified for the module or device that generates the alarms. The system thus enables the selection of various different alarms of a single control module, device, etc., to result in different plant displays, different faceplate displays, and/or different alarm handling parameters to be used to provide further information to the user regarding the selected alarm.

Abstract: A medical device for the measurement of brain temperature data through the Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) is described. Brain temperature measurement is the key and universal indicator of both disease and health equally, and is the only vital sign that cannot be artificially changed by emotional states. Currently, brain temperature is difficult to measure. However, the present disclosure describes a device that readily locates the Abreu brain thermal tunnel, and is configured to provide a non-contact temperature reading of the brain. Embodiments of the disclosed device enable an individual to measure their own temperature and enable medical professionals to measure the temperature of others.
