  • Patent number: 11640637
Abstract: Geographical mapping and linking of security and risk indicator data. Cross-references are created between location indicators and geo-spatial areas based on a statistical algorithm, in accordance with geo-spatial data. The cross-references are stored in a first data table. A credit risk indicator (CRI) is generated for each geo-spatial area based on other data, forming CRI data that is stored in second data table. A security associated with one of the location indicators is identified among security data. A first link is created between the security and a geo-spatial area based on the cross-references in the first data table. Based on the first link, a second link is created between an indicator among the CRI data in the second data table and the security. The second link is used to form instrument-level data for the security that includes the indicator. The instrument-level data is stored in a third data table.

Abstract: An aerial vehicle is navigated using vision-aided navigation that classifies regions of acquired still image frames as featureless or feature-rich, and thereby avoids expending time and computational resources attempting to extract and match false features from the featureless regions. The classification may be performed by computing a texture metric as by testing widths of peaks of the autocorrelation function of a region against a threshold, which may be an adaptive threshold, or by using a model that has been trained using a machine learning method applied to a training dataset comprising training images of featureless regions and feature-rich regions. Such machine learning method can use a support vector machine. Abstract: A system and method is provided for handling data in wireless communication devices where data may be captured and linked to a personal journal via indexing and mapping of context data tags abstracted from captured data. The captured data may be retrieved by matching a query to one or more context data tags indexed and mapped to the personal journal. A user preference utilizing one or more of the context data tags linked to the personal journal may facilitate captured data retrieval. The captured data may include multimedia data of an event pre-tagged with indexed information such as user ID, time, date, location and environmental condition or optionally one or more user's biometric data in response to the event. The pre-tagged captured data may be stored in the local host device or transferred to a remote host or storage for later retrieval or post processing.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and apparatus for providing traffic information of public transportation means, such as a bus, and utilizing the provided information. A method of encoding public traffic information according to the present invention creates an identifier of bus information system, an ID of bus route, and location information of each in-service bus pertaining to the bus route. The location information is expressed in a stop ID that is uniquely allocated to all of bus stops within coverage of BSI (Bus Service Information) service. The created information is organized to status information that is in turn incorporated into a transfer message. A sequence of transfer messages, each being constructed as described above, is wirelessly transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8744630
Abstract: A system and method of measuring atmospheric parameters in an enclosed space using instrumented objects having measurement sensors. The instrumented objects travel through the space randomly or along defined flight paths. As the instrumented objects travel through the space, the measurement sensors measure atmospheric parameters and store the measurements to a memory. The devices periodically upload the measured atmospheric parameters to a controller circuit. By using self-propelled objects to carry measurement sensors, the system and method disclosed herein allow for periodically sampling atmospheric parameters in the interior of an enclosed space at a number of locations greater than the number of measurement devices employed. With data points taken from various locations within a volume of an enclosed space, the system and method can realize a more efficient utilization of energy by adjusting mechanical controls of an HVAC system or a ventilation system, for example.

Abstract: A system and method of localizing elements (shared devices and/or their users) in a device infrastructure, such as a printing network, are provided. The method includes mapping a structure in which the elements of a device infrastructure are located, the elements comprising shared devices and users of the shared devices. Probable locations of fewer than all of the elements in the structure are mapped, with at least some of the elements being initially assigned to an unknown location. Usage logs for a plurality of the shared devices are acquired. The acquired usage log for each device includes a user identifier for each of a set of uses of the device, each of the uses being initiated from a respective location within the mapped structure by one of the users. Based on the acquired usage logs and the input probable locations of some of the elements, locations of at least some of the elements initially assigned to an unknown location are predicted.

Abstract: A displacement device for mapping wireless signal fingerprints includes motion sensors and at least one of a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) sensor and a round trip time (RTT) sensor. The motion sensors may include a pedometer and one or more sensors to receive turn information. The start position of the displacement device is initialized and as the displacement device is moved through an environment, the position of each measurement location is determined using the initialized position and data from the motion sensors. The measurement position along with the RSSI and/or RTT measurement is stored in a database, from which a map can be generated. The position of the access point may be determined using the RSSI measurement or RTT measurement. Additionally, accumulated errors in the measurement position may be monitored and when greater than a threshold, a user may be prompted to reinitialize the position of the displacement device.
