Abstract: An RFID reader configures each of a plurality of antennas operating in the RFID reader to operate in one of a first state and a second state, configures each of the plurality of antennas to operate in a first session and a second session and to operate in opposite states in the first session and the second session, and configures adjacent antennas or adjacent groups of antennas to operate in opposite states in the first session and the second session. During operation, each of the plurality of antennas is configured to read an RFID tag within a range of the antenna when a state of the RFID tag for the session in which the antenna is configured to operate matches the state in which the antenna is configured to operate and to switch the state of the RFID tag to the opposite state for each session.

  • Patent number: 10674211
Abstract: A television set top box (STB) or similar receiver device uses information obtained from a wireless interface to automatically detect when the device has been moved to a different location. The device may initially obtain a list of wi-fi zones or in-range wireless devices that can be quantified or stored for later comparison. If the device later finds that the original zones/devices are no longer present or that substantial numbers of new zones/devices are present, then the device can recognize that it has been moved to a new location. The device may respond to the detected location change by disabling premium content, by reporting back to a security service, by simply recording the change in location, or by taking other actions as appropriate.

  • Patent number: 10629047
Abstract: The indoor location based emergency care communication method includes that a wearable carrier sends a start signal and an emergency care communication signal to a fixed penetrating transmission module and a fixed non-penetrating transmission module when a caretaker wearing the wearable carrier has an emergency. The fixed penetrating transmission module generates a position signal of the wearable carrier located at one of the indoor spaces and a distance signal according to a detected distance between the wearable carrier and the nearest fixed non-penetrating transmission module. A processing unit receives and analyzes the emergency care communication signal, azimuth signal and distance signal to generate a position signal to be sent to a communication device. A warning unit receives the position signal and drives the communication device to issue a warning, so that a caregiving staff can know that the caretaker needs immediate rescue.
