  • Patent number: 8456320
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for providing feedback for a page turn requested on a device is provided. The device may be an electronic book (e-book) device or another device that is configured to display electronic documents. A movement on the display of the device is detected. The method determines that a page turn of the document is being requested based on the movement on the display. The method determines a light-based feedback to indicate that a page turn is being processed. The computing time to process a page turn and display a new page may be slow as perceived by the user. Accordingly, the light-based feedback is used to indicate to the user that the page turn has been received. A plurality of light sources are used to provide the light-based feedback based on a location of the movement. For example, as a user swipes a finger across a display, light sources that follow the motion of the finger are illuminated to simulate a page turn.

Abstract: A mobile communication terminal 10 has a navigation function to perform a route guidance from a present location to a destination by utilizing a network 100 and a GPS signal. A geomagnetism sensor 46, a direction detecting circuit 44 and a gyro sensor 48 detects a traveling direction of the mobile communication terminal 10 (user). The CPU 20 determines whether or not the traveling direction and a direction of the route designated by the navigation function are coincident with each other by the processing in a step S7. Then, if the traveling direction and the direction of the route designated by the navigation function are not coincident with each other, the LED 38 notifies what direction the user has to go by emitting light in any one of red, yellow and orange.

  • Patent number: 8432278
Abstract: A network-enabled device is provided. The provided network-enabled device includes at least one light indicator, and an electronic circuit capable of controlling brightness of said light indicator and driving said light indicator in a manner that allows simultaneous indication of at least a first dimension and a second dimension of said network-enabled device's operational state on said at least one light indicator using at least a first method and a second method of status indication. The present invention reduces the size, cost, and complexity—both internal and aesthetic—of network-enabled devices by combining the functions of the network LED (or a set thereof) and the device LED (or a set thereof) in a single status LED (or a set thereof).

Abstract: An LED light signal, in particular an LED railway light signal, contains a signal generator for generating varicolored light spots. The LEDs are embodied as multicolor LEDs, in particular RGB LEDs—Red/Yellow/Blue LEDs. In order to be able to utilize the possibilities for color mixing and thus for realizing a large number of color variants for safety-relevant signaling technology, the signal generator has at least one optical sensor for monitoring a color locus and a light intensity reliably in terms of signaling technology.

Abstract: A circuit where a rotary push switch module with first and second switches are closed and first and second terminals of a NAND gate receive high level signals. An output terminal of the NAND gate outputs a low level signal. A light emitting diode (LED) is not lit. A voltage output terminal outputs a standby voltage. When the first switch is opened, and the second switch is closed, the first and the second input terminals of the NAND gate respectively receive a high level signal and a low level signal. The output terminal of the NAND gate outputs a high level signal. The LED is lit. The voltage output terminal does not output the standby voltage.
