  • Patent number: 10298123
Abstract: A power supply includes a reference voltage generator circuit, a ramp generator circuit, and control circuitry. During operation, the reference voltage generator circuit compares a magnitude of a received output voltage feedback signal to a received reference voltage. Based on the comparison, the reference voltage generator circuit produces a varying reference voltage and outputs it to the ramp generator circuit. As its name suggests, a magnitude of the varying reference voltage varies over time. The ramp generator circuit produces a ramp voltage signal, a magnitude of which is offset by the varying reference voltage. To maintain an output voltage of the power supply within regulation, the control circuitry receives the varying reference voltage and controls activation of a power converter circuit to power a load based on a comparison of the ramp voltage signal and the output voltage feedback signal of the power supply.

  • Patent number: 6486857
Abstract: There is disclosed a phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit for use in an improved deflection correction circuit for a larger and flat display device. The PLL circuit has a phase comparator circuit, a filter, and a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) connected in series in this order. The output signal from the VCO is fed back to the phase comparator circuit. The PLL circuit further includes a period-detecting circuit for detecting the period of an externally applied signal and a frequency divider circuit. This frequency divider circuit divides the frequency of the output signal from the VCO according to the period detected by the period-detecting circuit and feeds the resulting signal back to the VCO.

Abstract: A projection display apparatus comprises a display device forming an image for projection to illuminate a display screen. A current source generates a current. A current sink is adjacent to the display screen and is coupled to the current source for receiving the current. • Patent number: 6369780
Abstract: In a video display, correction data for a digital convergence arrangement are stored in a first non-volatile memory. During power turn on procedure, the correction data are read out of and stored in a volatile memory. During each deflection cycle, the data stored in the volatile memory are successively read out and applied to an auxiliary convergence winding. When a parity error is detected in the read out data, an output and/or an input of a convergence amplifier is actively disabled to prevent a disturbance of a screen of the cathode ray tube.

  • Patent number: 6366263
Abstract: The size of an image displayed on a tube surface is varied while maintaining the aspect ratio thereof at a constant. First, if there is information of an arbitrary horizontal-size variable parameter and a vertical-size variable parameter because of parameters supplied previously by adjustments, the horizontal/vertical size of a raster formed at that time can be obtained, and the aspect ratio thereof can be obtained on the basis of the horizontal/vertical size of the raster. Then, during a zoom mode, the vertical-size variable parameter corresponding to the updated horizontal-size variable parameter is computed so that the detected aspect ratio becomes constant, and the raster size is changed in accordance with these values.

Abstract: A display device using a video signal counter system in its automatic positioning and centering circuit. The display device receives a video signal (e.g., from a host computer) including red, green, blue (RGB) color signals and synchronization signals. The present invention advantageously utilizes a video signal counter circuit which is located proximate to, and on the same integrated circuit PC board as, the video receiver circuit of the display device to increase the accuracy of automatic centering and sizing computations. The video signal counter circuit compares horizontal and vertical synchronization signals to the start of the picture edge as determined by the RGB signals. The video signal counter circuit communicates over a transmission line (e.g., serial line) to a processor unit located on another integrated circuit PC board.

  • Patent number: 6097355
Abstract: A method of calculating beam landing errors in an electronic display device having color phosphor elements and electron guns to generate electron beams to impinge on corresponding phosphor elements require a magnetic field to be generated to deflect an electron beam relative to the corresponding phosphor element on which the electron beam is to impinge. The intensity of light emitted by the phosphor elements in the measurement area is measured as the electron beam impinges thereon. The polarity of the magnetic field is reversed and the above step is repeated. Thereafter, the magnitude of the magnetic field is changed and the above two steps are repeated thereby to measure at least two different light intensities resulting from electron beam influenced by each polarity magnetic field. The at least two different light intensities resulting from electron beams influenced by each polarity magnetic field are then approximated with straight lines and an intersection point of the straight lines is determined.
