Abstract: Since a display device is used in a relatively large room, it often displays images on a large screen. On the other hand, a display terminal often displays images on a small screen. Therefore, when the same image is displayed on the display device and the display terminal, the displayed image on the display terminal is so small that the viewer has difficulty in discerning details of the image, which poses a problem that the display terminal is disadvantageous. In a display system including a display terminal and a display device, the display device detects position coordinates optically pointed out by a pointer on a displayed image, and displays a given pointer mark at the detected position coordinates. The display terminal displays a magnified version of the displayed image approximately around received position coordinates serving as a center thereof, and displays a given pointer mark at the position coordinates.

Abstract: A method for generating a presentation of a region-of-interest in an original image for display on a display surface, the method comprising: establishing a lens for the region-of-interest, the lens having a focal region with a magnification for the region-of-interest at least partially surrounded by a shoulder region across which the magnification varies to provide a continuous transition from the focal region to regions outside the lens; receiving a first signal for selecting the shoulder region; while receiving the first signal, receiving a second signal for selecting the focal region and for adjusting a position of the focal region relative to the shoulder region to define a degree and a direction of a folding of the focal region over the shoulder region for the lens; and, applying the lens to the original image to produce the presentation.

  • Patent number: 8405676
Abstract: A method for determining interior coordinates is disclosed. The method includes receiving information specifying an object having a plurality of sites and a boundary. Interior coordinates associated with each of the plurality of sites are determined based on the boundary. The interior coordinate associated with each of the plurality of sites represent a system of coordinates that satisfy several properties, including non-negativity and interior locality. At least one value associated with the plurality of sites is then interpolated using the interior coordinates.

  • Patent number: 8395643
Abstract: Dynamically magnifying search results and enabling motion-based review of the search results. The user enters a query to search the content of a document. As the characters of the query are entered by the user, the search results are identified and magnified such that all the search results after any given input character are visible in the user interface. The user advances through the search results by moving the computing device in a predefined manner. In an embodiment, the user searches the content of a web page rendered in a browser executing on a mobile computing device such as a telephone.
