  • Patent number: 11871055
Abstract: A video generating device obtains Laplace pyramid levels of 360° video frames; upscales each of the obtained Laplace pyramid levels so as to recover a set of corresponding Gaussian pyramid levels for each 360° video frame; determines a recovered Gaussian pyramid level among the set of recovered Gaussian pyramid levels for each pixel in each 360° video frame based on a bitrate budget for live streaming and a viewport region by performing a pyramid level assignment procedure; composes a 360° video with heterogeneous spatial quality based on summing up the determined recovered Gaussian pyramid levels for each pixel in each 360° video frame. Thereby, reduction of bitrate while providing a high video quality to the user when watching 360° videos is possible. Furthermore, the disclosure also relates to a download proxy comprising such a video generating device, corresponding methods, and a computer program.

  • Patent number: 11849196
Abstract: A method and system to automatically convert a presentation with slide materials to a digitized notetaking resource, by inputting a media stream from a presentation to a compute server, converting the media stream by segmenting the video into smaller segments, transcribing audio of the presenter's speech into text. Time stamp metadata is associated to elements of the segmented video (and, if available, slide data), audio, and transcribed text, and the elements are time ordered. A user interface is provided displaying elements of the segmented video/slide data and transcribed text. The user interface enables playback of the elements of the segmented video/slide data, audio of the presenter's speech, and transcribed text, wherein playback items are time-matched. Different times can be selected by a user, wherein the selected elements are made prominent in the display, with the audio of the presenter's speech also being time-matched to the selection.

Abstract: An improved camera system includes an uncooled thermal imaging sensor, a rotary actuator, a rotary encoder, and a slip ring. The rotary actuator is physically coupled to the uncooled thermal imaging sensor and enables the sensor to rotate a full 360 degrees any number of times relative to the system's horizontal base. Through the use of the slip ring, the sensor and the sensor's wiring can rotate freely without impedance. Notably, the sensor's wiring can be disposed through a central through-hole running the length of the rotary actuator. Therefore, prior to reaching the slip ring, the sensor and its wiring rotate in unison with the rotary actuator. The encoder is structured to monitor the angular position of the sensor in order to accurately determine where the sensor is being aimed.

Abstract: Techniques are described for efficient staggered high-dynamic-range (HDR) output of an image captured using a high-pixel-count image sensor based on pixel binning followed by luminance-guided upsampling. In each image capture time window, multiple (e.g., three) luminance-enhanced (LE) component images are generated. Each LE component image is generated by exposing the image sensor to incident illumination for a respective amount of time, using pixel binning during readout to generate appreciably downsampled color and luminance capture frames, generating an upsampled luminance guide frame from the luminance capture frame, and using the upsampled luminance guide frame to guide upsampling (e.g., and remosaicking) of the color capture frame.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for synchronized media capturing for an interactive scene. A user at a venue may watch an event unfold at the venue. The venue may include wireless beacons established throughout the venue. The wireless beacons may be configured to establish short range wireless communications with the user's device. Once a connection is established, the wireless beacons may instruct the user's device to capture media of an instance during the event. The wireless beacons may similar instruct other user's devices to capture media of the instance at the same time, thereby synchronizing media capturing of a particular instance during the event. The user may review the media and select to delete the media or upload the media to a media sharing service. The server may further process the media into an interactive scene.

  • Patent number: 10897637
Abstract: Techniques described herein include systems and methods for synchronizing multiple content streams for an event. A reference time point for an event being live-streamed by a plurality of streaming devices may be maintained. A plurality of content streams and manifest files may be received from streaming devices for the event where a manifest file includes a segment template and a timeline for a segment of content included in a content stream. The timeline may identify a capture time for the content generated by an associated streaming device of the streaming devices. The plurality of content streams may be synchronized by modifying the manifest files based on the capture times included in the manifest files and the reference time point. The plurality of content streams and the modified manifest files may be transmitted to a content viewing computer with instructions for synchronizing playback.

  • Patent number: 10841551
Abstract: A smartphone may be freely moved in three dimensions as it captures a stream of images of an object. Multiple image frames may be captured in different orientations and distances from the object and combined into a composite image representing an image of the object. The image frames may be formed into the composite image based on representing features of each image frame as a set of points in a three dimensional point cloud. Inconsistencies between the image frames may be adjusted when projecting respective points in the point cloud into the composite image. Quality of the image frames may be improved by processing the image frames to correct errors. Distracting features, such as the finger of a user holding the object being scanned, can be replaced with background content. As the scan progresses, a direction for capturing subsequent image frames is provided to a user as a real-time feedback.

In a system including the video camera and the remote controller that displays a captured image of the video camera, when a period in which there is no operation on the operation unit of the remote controller reaches a first prescribed time, transmission of the captured image from the video camera to the remote controller via Wi-Fi communication and displaying processing on a display unit of the remote controller are stopped. Further, when a period in which there is no operation on the operation unit of the remote controller reaches a second prescribed time, the Wi-Fi communication is interrupted. Valid operation unit information in each mode is displayed on the display unit of the remote controller.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using facial patterns for information access via optical barcodes are provided. In example embodiments, a computer accesses an image. The computer determines, using facial recognition, that the accessed image includes a face. The computer determines, using the face, an orientation of the image. The computer decodes, based on the determined orientation of the image, data encoded within the geometric shape. The computer may then access a resource based on the decoded data. In some aspects, a graphical output may be presented on a display device indicating the accessed resource.

  • Patent number: 10481922
Abstract: A client management server predicts a desired configuration of clients deployed in an enterprise based on various signals. This prediction is a best guess for a desired functionality of the client from a predefined set of possible functionalities (e.g., wayfinding, room management, dashboard, sign-in kiosk, digital sign, and point of sale terminal). Based on this prediction, the client management server facilitates provisioning of the clients with a configuration that supports the predicted functionality. The client management server may populate configuration fields located on an administrator client. An administrator can review the populated configuration fields and confirm that the predicted configuration is correct by sending a confirmation signal back to the central server. Upon receiving confirmation from the administrator client, the central server can provision the client with the predicted configuration.

  • Patent number: 10469764
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, media, and instructions are described for fast video sensor adjustment. In one embodiment, a portable electronic device with image capturing capabilities automatically captures a first plurality of frames upon selection of an input button while sensors of the device are determining camera settings for the environment. The first plurality of frames are captured using different automatic bracketing settings. Once the camera settings are determined, a second plurality of images are captured using the determined camera settings. One or more of the first plurality of images are used along with the second plurality of images for a video file. The one or more images may be selected based on a match between certain of the automatic bracketing settings and the final camera settings. A server computer may then aggregate settings from different devices to provide updated automatic bracketing settings to various devices.
