Abstract: A head mounted display (HMD) device is provided. The HMD has a display panel, a depth or distance sensor to measure distances between the HMD and a real object. The HMD device sets a close transition boundary distance (CTBD) between the HMD and a close transition boundary (CTB). A far transition boundary distance (FTBD) is set between the HMD and a far transition boundary (FTB). The CTBD is less than the FTBD. As a real object that has associated near and far virtual content moves nearer to the HMD device and crosses the CTB, the virtual content transitions to near virtual content for viewing on the HMD. As the real object moves away from the HMD and crosses the FTB, the virtual content transitions to the far virtual content for viewing on the HMD.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for identifying an object. In one aspect, a method includes receiving an image of a first location. The image depicts a layout of objects located at the first location and a visual code for each object. A user interface is generated for the first location using the image and the codes. The user interface depicts the objects and a user interface element for each visual code. Each user interface element is selectable to identify the object associated with the visual code. The user interface is provided for display at a second location. Selection data is received that specifies a selection of a particular user interface element. Command data is sent to a computer located at the first location, which causes the computer to highlight the object associated with the visual code of the selected user interface element.

  • Patent number: 8941745
Abstract: A mobile communication apparatus comprises: a first camera unit for capturing an image of a subject; a second camera unit for capturing an image of the camera operator or an image of an object possessed by the camera operator; an activation control unit; an operation recognizing unit; and an image capture control unit. The activation control unit controls, in response to an activation instruction, the second camera unit to start an image capture operation and sequentially generate still-image data. The operation recognizing unit compares, in response to an instruction to start the image capture operation, still-image data, specifically, current still-image data and the previous still-image data. If the current still-image data have varied relative to the previous still-image data, the image capture control unit controls the first camera unit to capture an image of the subject to generate image capture data.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed pertain to systems, method s and apparatus for the initialization of Computer Vision (CV) applications on user devices (UDs) comprising a camera and a display. In some embodiments, an optimal camera trajectory for initialization of a Computer Vision (CV) application may be determined based on an initial camera pose and an estimated pivot distance. For example, the initial camera pose may be estimated based on a first image captured by the camera. Further, the display may be updated in real-time with an indication of a desired movement direction for the camera. In some embodiments, the indication of desired movement direction may be based, in part, on a current camera pose and the optimal trajectory, where the current camera pose may be estimated based on a current image captured by the camera.
