Abstract: A method of upselling ordering items includes: in response to detection of a patron at or approaching an ordering terminal, capturing N sets of identification data for the patron using N passive patron identification systems, respectively, wherein N is an integer greater than one; calculating an overall confidence value indicating a level of confidence that the patron is associated with a unique patron identifier based on N comparisons of the N sets of identification data with N sets of stored identification data, respectively, associated with the unique patron identifier; based on the unique patron identifier, retrieving stored data indicative of an ordering item that is to be subliminally suggested to the patron during ordering; using the ordering terminal, displaying an ordering menu; and, when the overall confidence value is greater than a predetermined value, subliminally suggesting the ordering item to the patron while the patron places an order.

Abstract: Techniques of active parallax correction are disclosed. In some embodiments, a first gaze direction of at least one eye of a user is determined. A determination about virtual content can then be made based on the first gaze direction, and the virtual content can be caused to be presented to the user based on the determination. In some embodiments, making the determination comprises determining a first location on a display surface at which to display the virtual content. In some embodiments, the virtual content can be caused to be displayed on the display surface at the first location.

Abstract: The technology described herein employs techniques for overlaying (superimposing) translated text on top of (over) scanned text in realtime. The technology recognizes text in an image and identifies a first language in which the text is written. The technology translates the text into a second language and generates an overlay in the second language. The overlay is then inserted into the display over the text in the image.

Abstract: Provided is a broadcasting receiving apparatus and a control method thereof capable of receiving recommendation information, the control method of a broadcasting receiving apparatus receiving recommendation information about a broadcasting program; comparing a time of confirming the recommendation information and a broadcasting time of a recommended program included in the recommendation information; and supplying a function of the broadcasting receiving apparatus for using the recommendation information to correspond to a comparison result. Accordingly, a broadcasting receiving apparatus and a control method thereof capable of supplying a broadcasting service having an improved user convenience is provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sharing digital media with a space. One of the methods includes receiving a request from a first user to provide digital media for presentation in a first physical space, the request identifying the digital media and a group of authorized users allowed to view the digital media. Sensors in the first space identify the authorized users located in the first physical space. That only authorized users can view the digital media is determined from the sensors. The digital media is provided for presentation in the first physical space while determining that only authorized users can view the digital media.

Abstract: Methods and systems that provide enhanced personal video recorder (“PVR”) and interactive television program guide (“IPG”) functionality are provided. An interactive television application may be used to display a list of PVR recordings, schedule recordings to a PVR, configure recordings, view a list of scheduled recordings, configure recording settings, or select delete priority settings for recordings. The application may integrate pay-per-view and PVR functionality. The application may send user notifications for changes that are to be made to the recording content of a PVR. Live programming may be buffered by the application using straight buffers that are created for each new program. Parallel buffers for concurrent programs may be implemented using multiple tuners. Straight buffers may be used in managing or controlling the flow of programming. Television content may be automatically paused when a user is engaged in using the application. Multiple IPGs for different users of a PVR may be implemented.

Abstract: Log information includes items of information that identify one or more of program titles and performers that are selected by a user as being preferred. Identifiers are displayed, where each of the identifiers identifies an item of information included in the log information. An input to select one of the identifiers is received, and broadcast information for the program title or performer corresponding to the selected identifier is acquired. The broadcast information includes one or more broadcast times of contents that have the program title or that include the performer. The broadcast information is displayed to include the one or more broadcast times and an input is received to select a broadcast time of a content. Detailed information for the content and the broadcast time are displayed when the input to select the broadcast time of the content is received.

Whereupon, the user may be offered a selection to either upload a video or image or to capture a video or image. Systems and methods may include receiving a widget selection for one of the plurality of widgets and outputting a video menu corresponding to the selected widget for display on the display screen. The video menu includes a plurality of video scenes, whereby each of the plurality of video scenes represents a broadcast program categorized in the selected widget. Systems and methods may include receiving a program selection for one of the plurality of video scenes.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, identifying a stereoscopic preference from a user profile associated with a user of a viewing apparatus, receiving a stereoscopic media program, generating an adapted media program by adapting one or more presentation aspects of the stereoscopic media program according to the stereoscopic preference, and presenting at a presentation device the adapted media program according to a time-division multiplexing or space-division multiplexing scheme for viewing by way of the viewing apparatus. Abstract: Disclosed is a method for hybrid transmission over a broadcast network and a broadband network, comprising the steps of: providing information on the broadcast content relating to a first content during the viewing the first content of the broadband network; and, if the related broadcast content is selected, providing the related broadcast content to a user over the broadcast network. The user may receive the broadcast content corresponding to relevant specific content over the broadcast network and view the received broadcast content during the viewing of specific VOD content in the broadcast network.

Abstract: A system and method for intelligent content searching is disclosed herein. The system saves all searches executed by the user and periodically re-executes one or more of the previously saved searches and display the subsequent search results to the user at an appropriate time without any user intervention. In one aspect, the system periodically re-executes one or more of the previously saved searches upon the occurrence of a trigger event, which may be trending events, news events, type of menus and/or screens accessed, new content being added on one or more service providers, a boot event, passage of time since last search, etc. In this way, users do not need to set alert or follow any search topic.

Abstract: The disclosure describes systems and methods related to moving object content that is enhanced with textual content presented using rapid serial visual presentation (“RSVP”). In one embodiment, video content is enhanced with RSPV content. Related embodiments provide systems and methods for displaying, creating, and editing such content. A particular embodiment provides for RSPV enhanced video previews. In another embodiment, augmented reality content is enhanced with RSVP content. In some embodiments, RSPV enhanced moving object content is provided on various end user electronic devices including smart phones, smart watches, and head mounted displays. These and other embodiments are disclosed further herein.

Abstract: The present invention provides shutter glasses comprising lenses and a shutter configured to control on-state or off-state of the lenses, wherein, the shutter is capable of turning on the lenses of the shutter glasses according to a predetermined first timing. The present invention further provides a display device, a display system and a display method. The shutter glasses provided by the present invention and the display device provided by the present invention are operated cooperatively, only a wearer wearing the shutter glasses can view coherent target images, while a person who does not wear the shutter glasses cannot identify contents of the target images, and cannot obtain contents of target images even when the display screen of the display device is photographed. With the shutter glasses and the display device provided by the present invention, security can be improved when operating confidential files.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a video synopsis method and apparatus, and relate to the field of video synopsis. The method includes: extracting moving objects and moving tracks of the moving objects from an original video; calculating a spatio-temporal redundancy between the extracted moving tracks, and determining a synopsis ratio of the moving tracks according to the spatio-temporal redundancy; and changing rates of the moving tracks according to the synopsis ratio of the moving tracks. In the present invention, the spatio-temporal redundancy between the moving tracks is analyzed, and synopsis and rate changing are performed on corresponding tracks according to the spatio-temporal redundancy obtained by means of analysis to obtain different representations of different tracks, thereby improving user experience.

In an exemplary embodiment, the control comprises a radial control at one of a plurality of user-selectable radial distances from a center of the jog control, the radial distance indicative of a jog control scale factor, wherein selection of the radial control selects and fixes the jog control scale factor until the control area is unselected, and wherein rotation of the selected radial control about a center of the jog control commands navigation through the plurality of media program frames at a rate determined by the selected jog control scale factor and an angular rate of the selected radial control about the center of the jog control.

Abstract: A video multiviewer system includes a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) that includes a GPU memory. A video input module is operative with the GPU for receiving video data and transferring the video data to the GPU memory via a Direct Memory Access (DMA). A programmable circuit such as a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) includes a multi-ported and in one aspect a dual ported block Random Access Memory (RAM) configured for a plurality of DMA channels for receiving video data and allowing uninterrupted operation of consecutive DMA transfers of video data to the GPU memory. A display displays the multiple video windows based upon video data received within the GPU memory.

Presentation of the guide can be independent of a time axis or dimension and a channel axis or dimension. Titles can be displayed in a manner that is independent of a start time or running length of the associated program.

Abstract: A device includes one or more image sensors that capture live video data and a memory that stores the captured live video data. The device includes circuitry that determines an angle-of-view for one or more frames of the live video data and generates wide angle video data that has a larger angle-of-view than the one or more frames of the live video data. The circuitry determines one or more angles-of-view not represented in the wide angle video data by the live video data. The circuitry generates make-up image data captured at a later time than the live video data, wherein the make-up image data has an angle-of-view corresponding to at least one of the one or more angles-of-view that are not represented in the wide angle video data by the live video data. The circuitry updates the wide angle video data to include the make-up image data.

Abstract: The conferencing system is composed of computers, a moderator's computer, and a projector connected on a network. The moderator's computer receives image data from the computers, and generates synthesized image data therefrom, which is transmitted to the projector for display of the synthesized image. The moderator's computer has the capability to switch the image being projected by the projector from the synthesized image to an image handled by one of the computers or by the moderator's computer. With such an arrangement, utilizing existing hardware resources it will be possible to display in a single split-screen display the images handled by the terminals connected on the network. Additionally, it will be possible to switch smoothly between on-screen displays, and to reduce the burden on the on-screen display operator in a networked conferencing system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for streaming content to an access network in an interactive information distribution system. The method encapsulates the content in accordance to an Internet Protocol (IP). The content is then transcoded into a format supported by the access network, and streamed over a distribution network to a remote server or to a subscriber terminal that is coupled to the access network. The apparatus is embodied as stream caching server for streaming the content encapsulated within the packet to access networks via a stream distribution network in response to a request for content. A user wears eyeglasses with filters to filter out light from the program which the user does not want to view, while allowing the light from the program the user does want to view to be seen by the user.
