Abstract: A display device is provided, which includes a jog switch which performs a moving operation in a plurality of directions and a push operation, a display unit which displays a first user interface (UI) for adjusting a channel or a volume of the display device or a second UI for adjusting other functions of the display device in accordance with a first operation of the jog switch, and a control unit which adjusts a selected function of the display device in accordance with a second operation of the jog switch in which is performed in a state where the first UI or the second UI is displayed. The jog switch is formed to project for a predetermine height from a surface of the display device, and thus a user can find the jog switch easily and promptly even is the jog switch is obstructed from view.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display, a single physical button and a processor configured to control the display to display a guide user interface (UI), a selection UI and a plurality of menu items, based on a user input received via the single physical button being identified as a short click input, move the selection UI from one menu item among the plurality of menu items to another menu item among the plurality of menu items, based on the user input being identified as a long press input, select the one menu item and execute a control function corresponding to the selected one menu item, and based on an execution of the control function, control the display to display a setting UI indicating a current setting value of the control function.

Abstract: An electronic device such as a head mounted device may have an inner display that displays an image for a user through lenses. Head-mounted support structures may be used to support the display and lenses. One or more external displays may be publically viewable while the head-mounted device is being worn. The head-mounted support structures may have a front face on which an external display is mounted. One or more finger sensors that are configured to detect touch input, force input, and/or other input from an external object such as a user's finger may be included in the head-mounted device. A finger sensor may have an elongated shape that runs along a peripheral edge of an external display on the front face. Finger sensors may also be located on other portions of the support structures.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a reading system includes an extractor, a determiner, and a reader. The extractor extracts a candidate image from an input image. The candidate image is a candidate of a portion of the input image in which a segment display is imaged. The determiner uses the candidate image and a mask to calculate a match ratio indicating a certainty of a segment display being included in the candidate image, and determines that the candidate image is an image of a segment display when the match ratio is not less than a threshold. The mask and the threshold are preset. The reader reads a numerical value displayed in a segment display from the candidate image determined to be an image of a segment display.

A loopback device connects between a first source device and a sink device on a first connection; a second source device connects to the sink device on a second connection. The loopback device manages the first connection, passes transition-minimized differential signaling (TMDS) or fixed-rate link (FRL) signals through to the sink device, and outputs audio received from the sink device on the audio return channel (ARC) or enhanced audio return channel (eARC). In this manner, audio that originates from any source device may be output without requiring a direct connection to the loopback device.

Abstract: A method of identifying targeted content includes deploying a plurality of internet bots configured to interact with content sources using predetermined patterns and profiles, wherein each individual internet bot of the plurality of internet bots includes at least one characteristic that is unique relative to the rest of the plurality of internet bots, collecting cause and effect data related to cause and effect of user interactions with content sources, receiving the cause and effect data collected by the plurality of internet bots, correlating user interactions with content sources using the cause and effect data collected by the plurality of internet bots, and identifying, how content is targeted to users by content sources from the correlating.

Abstract: A method and system of dynamically adapting a streaming media content are provided. A user device determines a class of each member of its audience. Streaming media content is received. The streaming media content is monitored to dynamically determine a rating of each segment of the streaming media content. For each segment of the streaming media content, upon determining that a rating of a segment is above a class of a most restricted member of the audience, one or more portions of the segment are adapted to alter the rating of the segment to the class of the most restricted member of the audience. The segment of the media content is then presented on a user interface of the user device.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method for automatically adjusting parental controls of computing devices to accommodate holidays may include (i) identifying, at a computing device, a geolocation of the computing device from geolocation information and (ii) performing, at the computing device, a security action. The security action may include (a) identifying holiday information associated with the geolocation of the computing device, (b) determining at least a portion of a current day is a holiday by comparing a current date to the holiday information, (c) determining a level of parental controls to impose on operation of the computing device in response to at least a portion of the current day being a holiday, and (d) imposing the level of parental controls on the computing device during the at least a portion of the current day. Abstract: Techniques are described for real time monitoring and tagging of media content generated during a service session between an individual and a service representative (SR). Media content received during a service session may be dynamically tagged with one or more metadata tags during the service session, the tag(s) indicating portion(s) of the media content that potentially include sensitive information. Tagging may be based on a SR's gestures, clicks, keystrokes, mouse-overs, and/or other actions performed in a SR user interface (UI) during the service session. The media content may be redacted based on the tags to remove and/or obfuscate potentially sensitive information.

By way of example, the overlay can include a graphical presentation layer (GPL) that can selectively mask and/or expose functionality of the native GUI of the device. Abstract: Various arrangements for providing bimodal digital video recording are presented. A plurality of over-the-air (OTA) television programs received via an antenna input port may be recorded to a local processor-readable storage medium. Record instructions may be transmitted to a cloud-based television programming service provider server system to remotely record and store scheduled streaming television programs to storage of the cloud-based television programming service provider server system. OTA television programs received via the antenna input port and recorded to the local processor-readable storage medium may be determined. Indications of television programs stored by the cloud-based television programming service provider server system may be received. Data may be output to a display device to present the bimodal DVR interface having a unified interface that simultaneously comprises indications of the recorded OTA television programs and indications of the scheduled streaming television programming.

Metadata comprising a pre-roll value is inserted at a first insertion point related to a first interstitial content item of the plurality of interstitial content items, based on the playout schedule. An offset is detected in the metadata, based on the first insertion point of the metadata in the video feed, the pre-roll value, and a time-code (TC) jump associated with a second interstitial content item in the video feed. One or more control parameters associated with the insertion of the metadata are calibrated, based on the detected offset to align a splice point related to the first interstitial content item with the TC jump associated with the second interstitial content item.

According to the present invention, the flat cable has a narrow width by including a plurality of layers, and thus wiring of signal terminals and power terminals can be easily changed between the flat cable and the round cable.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a media content user interface. A media content provider includes storage for storing and serving video content to subscribers. The media content provider records and or otherwise stores video content from around the world. Subscribers are provided a user interface to the system that includes a side bar. The side bar includes multiple elements representing different categories of video content. By selecting a given category, available content is filtered according to the selected category and presented. Content which is presented may include live broadcast video for multiple channels on multiple television networks or other content providers. The side bar may further include a collection category specific to a given viewer. Selection of such a category may display video content within the collection. Subcategories in the side bar may be selected for further filtering of available content.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing content creation and content publishing in a controlled environment are disclosed herein. A media management device receives an audio track including lyrical content. Further, the media management device performs speech recognition analysis on the audio track to determine lyrical text corresponding to the lyrical content. Additionally, the media management device determines whether the audio track contains prohibited content based on comparing the lyrical text to a blacklist of prohibited information. When the audio track does not include prohibited content, the media management device publishes the audio track to a media library accessible to devices within the controlled environment.

Abstract: A method for analyzing time series data to identify an event of interest is provided. The method includes receiving, at a computing device, time series data that includes the event of interest, identifying, using the computing device, a start time of the event of interest and an end time of the event of interest by modeling at least one transitional pattern in the time series data, and categorizing, using the computing device, the event of interest based on the at least one transitional pattern.

Abstract: According to an aspect of an embodiment of the present disclosure, operations related to display level content blocking may include obtaining pixel data of a screen image intended for presentation on a display. The operations may further include, prior to presenting the screen image on the display: identifying particular content in the screen image based on the pixel data; identifying, in the pixel data, content-pixel data that is a portion of the pixel data that corresponds to the identified particular content; and modifying the content-pixel data to obscure presentation of the particular content. The content receiver further includes a content decoder for concurrently decoding two or more audio/video programs from the composite signal and a detector configured to detect whether one or more of the transmission channels tuned by the tuner arrangement are not currently in use for providing a program for decoding. Finally, the content receiver includes a controller that, responsive to detection that a transmission channel is not currently in use, controls the tuner to tune that channel to a transmission channel carrying a transport stream including non-viewing information.

Abstract: A system for providing a secure video display using a one-way data link. An input interface for receives a video stream signal. The one-way data link has an input node coupled to receive the input video stream signal and an output node. A processing system is coupled to the output node of the one-way data link and is configured to run a predetermined operating system. In an embodiment, a video display software program operates within the predetermined operating system to process the video stream signal received from the output node of the one-way data link and to provide an output signal for viewing on a display coupled to the processing system. Optionally, the video display program operates within a virtual operating system running within the predetermined operating system. In other embodiments, the video display program may process a video stream signal containing a plurality of different video programs.

Abstract: A content hosting system allows content providers to create channels of video content and make them available to users in a marketplace. Users can search or browse for channels of interest, and selectively subscribe to channels. Users can also pay for the right to view premium videos in each channel. The system ranks channels according to the value provided. Generally, users will seek out and subscribe to the highest ranked channels that provide the greatest value. The ranking function allows different providers to compete for the subscriptions of users. Providers can observe their channel's reception in the market by analyzing rankings and usage statistics to adjust channels to maximize channel performance. The system operator can also create bundled channels containing videos from multiple providers, and the resulting subscription revenue can be distributed to the various providers of the videos in the channel.

Abstract: A distributed database management system provides a central database resident on a server that contains database objects. Objects, e.g., program guide data, to be replicated are gathered together into distribution packages called “slices,” that are transmitted to client devices. A slice is a subset of the central database which is relevant to clients within a specific domain, such as a geographic region, or under the footprint of a satellite transmitter. The viewer selects television programs and Web content from displayed sections of the program guide data which are recorded to a storage device. The program guide data are used to determine when to start and end recordings. Client devices periodically connect to the server using a phone line and upload information of interest which is combined with information uploaded from other client devices for statistical, operational, or viewing models.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for performing an intelligent display device detection operation. With the intelligent display device detection operation even if a user has not turned on a second information handling system, the display device automatically switch a video input from a first information handling system to the second information handling system when the second information handling system is coupled to the display device. When the user powers on the second information handling system, a video stream provided by the second information handling system is immediately presented on the display device. In certain embodiments, the intelligent display device detection operation comprises one or more of a signal detection operation which detects which input port is transmitting a signal and a cable detection operation which detects which input port is coupled to a cable.

Abstract: A distributed database management system provides a central database resident on a server that contains database objects. Objects, e.g., program guide data, to be replicated are gathered together into distribution packages called “slices,” that are transmitted to client devices. A slice is a subset of the central database which is relevant to clients within a specific domain, such as a geographic region, or under the footprint of a satellite transmitter. The viewer selects television programs and Web content from displayed sections of the program guide data which are recorded to a storage device. The program guide data are used to determine when to start and end recordings. Client devices periodically connect to the server using a phone line and upload information of interest which is combined with information uploaded from other client devices for statistical, operational, or viewing models.

The method may generate a channel list including a channel number inputted by a user and a main viewing channel list and display together the channel list and the main viewing channel list. Here, the channel list includes at least one channel of which number starts from the inputted channel number, and the main viewing channel list includes one or more channels viewed mainly by the user with the received channel number.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for identifying duplicate stations in a radio station network. An example method includes identifying stations within a radio station network, determining which of the stations are duplicate stations, and selecting, via automated operated content management devices or user input directed to manually operated content management devices, which of the duplicate stations to show and which of the duplicate stations to suppress from being presented to a user. The example method further includes selectively displaying a selected duplicate station of a group of duplicate stations depending on a radio network's contractual agreements with various partners.

Abstract: An animated visualization of data on an electronic device having a limited display area (such as a mobile device with a touch screen input) is disclosed. The limited display area is partitioned into a thumbnail view of a full data set and an expanded view of a subset of the data that is highlighted within the thumbnail. The views are correspondingly animated such that the highlighted data appears to progressively slide across the thumbnail view such that the full set of data is ultimately displayed in the expanded view. The data displayed in the expanded view is kept in context by dynamically highlighting the corresponding data within the thumbnail view. Various actions are also disclosed, such as pausing/re-starting the animation, selectively pinning data and consolidating coupled data elements—in each case at any time during the animation.

Abstract: A media content processing system includes a receiver configured to receive a media content signal, associated with a media content instance, from a plurality of sources including a first source and a second source. The media content processing system further includes a processing device programmed to generate a first recorded segment that includes a portion of the media content instance received from the first source, determine a signal strength of the media content signal received from the first source, compare the signal strength to a predetermined level, request the media content signal from the second source if the signal strength is below the predetermined level, generate a second recorded segment that includes a portion of the media content instance received from the second source, and concatenate the second recorded segment to the first recorded segment.
