Window Signal Generator (e.g., Rectangle) Patents (Class 348/596)
  • Patent number: 9030610
Abstract: High definition media content processing techniques are described in which enhanced media content rendering techniques may be performed to output high definition media content. In an implementation, luma keying may be provided to define clear pixels in a composite output using an optimum set of graphics processing instructions. In another implementation, techniques are described which may provide clear rectangles in a composite output of one or more video streams. Clear rectangles to appear in the composite output are configured by a media playback application. A texture is arrived at to represent a union of each of the clear rectangles and is applied to form the clear rectangles in the composite output. In another implementation, capture techniques are described in which an image to capture is resolved as strips to an intermediate texture and then from the texture to a capture buffer in system memory.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter relates to a computer-implemented architecture that can generate a map. The map can be a hybrid between an orthographic projection map and street-side images, thus including useful aspects from both types of representations. For example, an orthographic projection map is very effective at presenting global relationships among the features of the map but not effective at presenting local detail. In contrast, street -side images show excellent detail but do not convey the global information of an orthographic projection map. The hybrid map can thus provide a richer set of information than conventional maps and can also display objects/features of the hybrid map in multiple perspectives simultaneously on a single representation that is printable.

This electric mask generating apparatus reads a mask signal in this mask generation memory by a microcomputer, and mixes an image signal of an object with the above-described mask signal by using a shift register or the like in a mask-mixing circuit. According to the mask signal having this configuration of one pixel per bit, since it is possible to write the mask signal in the above-described mask generation memory during the time that is one-eighth of conventional write time, it becomes possible to quickly display an image to which a normal mask or a scaled mask is given.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for processing data representing multiple image sequences, e.g., TV programs, and displaying multiple images from different video sequences in different windows of a single display screen are disclosed. The amount of system resources required to process and display the image data are a function of the size of the windows in which the images are displayed. In accordance with the present invention demand for system resources is assessed and compared to the amount of available system resources. If the demand for system resources will exceed the available system resources, the size of one or more of the windows used to display secondary images, e.g., the small PIP windows, is reduced to reduce the burden, e.g., processing or bus bandwidth burden, on one or more system resources. In one embodiment, the system suggests a set of window sizes to the user which will allow for the decoding and display of programs without exceeding the available system resources.

Abstract: A cable test application is run in the host computer to determine whether the PC to printer connection is able to maintain at least a predetermined speed of data transfer. The cable test provides an accurate measure of the true throughput of the I/O connection during a print job, for example by sending special blocks of data, each tagged so that it is recognizable by the printer firmware's formatter as a "speed test block" that may be discarded after it has been processed, not only by the printer firmware's I/O process, but also by the downstream formatter process. This provides a more accurate measure of data transmission speed than simply having the I/O process throw away not yet formatted test data, and does not require the waste or spoilage of any print media or other expendable supplies.
