Abstract: An image monitoring system that efficiently utilizes a network band and decrease the processing load of a server is provided. A second image decision processor analyzes an extracted image transmitted from a monitoring terminal, and evaluates the quality (reliability) of the extracted image. A reliability decision unit outputs an individual ID of the analyzed extracted image to a load estimation unit when the numerical value from the analysis output by the second decision processor becomes less than the preset threshold. The load estimation unit estimates the server processor load of a server and the network load. A resend request unit controls the resend request for an individual ID output from the negative load estimation unit corresponding to the server processor load and the network load.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatic audio standard detection in terrestrial broadcast signals is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of detecting automatic audio standard for terrestrial broadcast includes scanning for each known audio frequency standard of interest in a current band energy spectrum in an incoming broadcast signal using a standard of non standard energy estimation algorithm, such as Goertzel DFT or FFT based algorithm for a predetermined time interval. At each known audio frequency standard of interest, energy is computed using the associated standard or non standard energy estimation algorithm within the predetermined time interval. The computed energy at each known audio frequency standard of interest is then compared to predetermined threshold energy. At each known audio frequency standard of interest, it is determined whether the audio frequency standard of interest is detected based on the outcome of the comparison.

Next, the first filtered signal is frequency-demodulated to obtain a first demodulated filtered signal, and whether the input sound signal contains a FM analog component corresponding to the first frequency is determined accordingly. Next, the second filtered signal is decoded according to a digital sound standard to obtain a bit stream. Then, the bit steam is interpreted according to the digital sound standard, and whether the input sound contains a digital component corresponding to the digital sound standard is determined accordingly. Then, whether the input sound signal matches one of known sound standards is determined based on the determined results above.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a video signal processing apparatus and method, a recording medium, and a program which are suitably for use in determining whether an input video signal is standard or nonstandard. In synchronization with the rising and falling edges of a field ID signal AFD, the free-running field ID edge counter 32 increments the count value by 1. The comparator 33 generates a nonstandard signal detection signal in correspondence with the FD edge count value with the V count value being 7 and a vertical sync signal xVD being at L level. The present invention is applicable to TV receivers for example.

  • Patent number: 5943101
Abstract: For many signal processing arrangements in TV receivers it is necessary to know the type of signal source. A plurality of parameters must be set depending on whether a standard-conforming source and hence a standard signal or a non-standard source (for example VCR) is involved. The circuit according to the invention is capable of making a statement in a TV receiver as to whether or not a source corresponding to the TV standard is present. For this purpose, the locking of the color subcarrier with the horizontal frequency is investigated and two different criteria (FSCFH, CCC) are utilized for the decision. The optimized setting of parameters in the receiver is possible with the aid of the decision made. Furthermore, the circuit provides, in the event of a standard signal, a highly stable sampling clock (fLL1) of the kind necessary, for example, for ColorPlus processing within the PALplus system.
