  • Patent number: 11262975
Abstract: A soft decision audio decoding system for preserving audio continuity in a digital wireless audio receiver is provided that deduces the likelihood of errors in a received digital signal, based on generated hard bits and soft bits. The soft bits may be utilized by a soft audio decoder to determine whether the digital signal should be decoded or muted. The soft bits may be generated based on a degree of closeness of a detected phase trajectory to known legal phase trajectories determined from the running the phase trajectory through a soft-output Viterbi algorithm. The value of the soft bits may indicate confidence in the strength of the hard bit generation. The soft decision audio decoding system may infer errors and decode perceptually acceptable audio without requiring error detection, as in conventional systems, as well as have low latency and improved granularity.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for optimal placement of contextual information for Augmented Reality (AR) applications to overcome the limitations of occlusion with object/scene of interest through optimally placing labels aiding better interpretation of scene. This is achieved by combining saliency maps computed for each frame of an input video with Euclidean distance between current and previous overall positions for each frame based on an initial overlay position of the label to calculate an updated overlay position for label placement in the video. The placement of overlays is formulated as an objective function that minimizes visual saliency around the object of interest and minimizes the temporal jitter facilitating coherence in real-time AR applications.

  • Patent number: 10511462
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to DC interference cancelation in received wireless signals. Disclosed techniques may be performed in the digital domain, in conjunction with analog cancelation techniques. In some embodiments, a receiver apparatus operates a local oscillator at a frequency corresponding to a particular pilot symbol in a received wireless signal. In some embodiments the receiver estimates DC interference at the frequency based on the received pilot symbol (this may be facilitated by the fact that the contents of pilot symbols are known, because they are typically used for channel estimation). In some embodiments, the receiver apparatus is configured to cancel the DC interference based on the estimate to determine received data in subsequently received signals at the frequency. Disclosed techniques may allow narrowband receivers to efficiently use more of their allocated frequency bandwidth, rather than wasting bandwidth near the frequency of the local oscillator.

Abstract: A data demodulation method, apparatus, and system are presented. The method includes obtaining notification information indicating that user equipment (UE) is in a high-speed moving state; performing time-frequency synchronization processing on first downlink data according to the notification information to obtain second downlink data; and performing demodulation processing on the second downlink data to obtain third downlink data, where in the demodulation processing, inter-transmission time intervals (TTIs) filtering for a channel estimation is not performed, or a filtering coefficient as a weight of a current TTI for a channel estimation is greater than a filtering coefficient as a weight of a TTI that is at the time when the UE is in the non-high-speed moving state for a channel estimation. The demodulation method is applicable to a high-speed scenario for improving a downlink data throughput of the UE.
