Abstract: Methods and systems for realizing a high radiance x-ray source based on a high density electron emitter array are presented herein. The high radiance x-ray source is suitable for high throughput x-ray metrology and inspection in a semiconductor fabrication environment. The high radiance X-ray source includes an array of electron emitters that generate a large electron current focused over a small anode area to generate high radiance X-ray illumination light. In some embodiments, electron current density across the surface of the electron emitter array is at least 0.01 Amperes/mm2, the electron current is focused onto an anode area with a dimension of maximum extent less than 100 micrometers, and the spacing between emitters is less than 5 micrometers. In another aspect, emitted electrons are accelerated from the array to the anode with a landing energy less than four times the energy of a desired X-ray emission line.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for generating and providing a playlist of content relevant to a user that is to be played back instead of advertisement content. In some embodiments, a media guidance application may access a profile of a user, and may generate a playlist comprising a plurality of program content based on data of the profile. The media guidance application may determine that advertisement content is imminently to be played back to the user, and, in response to determining that the advertisement content is imminently to be played back to the user, the media guidance application may select program content of the playlist to play back instead of the advertisement content, and generate for display the program content.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of providing a user information-based search using a get_Data operation in TV-ANYTIME service. In the user information-based search provision method of the present invention, a user information (PersonalInformation) element is added as an element of the get_Data operation. A request message of the get_Data operation is received. User information is extracted from the user information (PersonalInformation) element in response to reception of the request message. A user information-based search is conducted using the extracted user information. Results of the user information-based search are transmitted using a response message of the get_Data operation. Accordingly, the present invention is advantageous in that a client provides user information to a service provider using a get_Data operation, and the service provider can search for contents suitable for each user in consideration of the user information.

Abstract: Coupling fluids for use in optically coupling a projection lens system of a projection television to a cathode ray tube (CRT (16)) are provided. The fluids have: (1) at least one polymer having a siloxane backbone, i.e., at least one polymer having a —Si—O—Si—O—Si— backbone, and (2) methyl, phenyl, and hydrophilic groups attached to the silicon atoms of the backbone. The fluid can be composed of a single siloxane polymer having methyl, phenyl, and hydrophilic side groups or a mixture of a siloxane polymer having methyl and phenyl side groups with a siloxane polymer having methyl and hydrophylic side groups. The index of refraction of the fluid is preferably greater than 1.52 so as to minimize reflections at the interface between the fluid and the faceplate (17) of the CRT (16).

Mirrors may be pivotally connected to monitors for some applications.

Abstract: A cabling arrangement is disclosed for transmitting analog VGA video signals via a cable having insulated conductors and without the use of micro coaxial conductors. In this cable, the red, green, and blue video signals are applied to a first set of conductors grouped against one side of the cable. The horizontal and vertical sync signals are applied to a second set of conductors grouped along an opposite side of the cable. Interposed between the first and second sets of conductors is a plurality of conductors carrying stable potentials, such as ground potentials and identification bit potentials. The separation effected by the interposed conductors, and the interposed conductors themselves, provides effective shielding and isolation of the first and second sets of conductors.

Abstract: An audio/video control device for providing audio and/or video signals to a user. The audio/video control device includes a base unit and a portable unit. The base unit includes a housing having a recess extending therein and a first processor for controlling operation of the base unit. A first audio/video storage and reproduction device is positioned within the housing and controlled by the processor to store and reproduce audio and video signals. A device for connection with an external source of audio and video signals is also connected to the first processor. The processor is able to receive control commands for operating the device through a microphone. The portable unit is releasably connected within the recess of the base unit either jointly or separably. The portable unit includes a second processor and a connector for selectively connecting the second processor to the first processor.
