  • Patent number: 11200663
Abstract: A method and system for production of layered wood products employs local and independently operating robotic panel assembly cells including a vison system for inspecting and grading veneer sheets, one or more veneer handling robots, one or more core handling robots, and one or more glue application robots to produce stacks of layered wood product panels locally near the pressing stations. Consequently, the stacks of layered wood product panels are independently built at, or near, the location of the pressing stations using inspected and graded veneer sheets. This eliminates the need for traditional panel conveyors, traditional layered wood product panel assembly layup lines, and stack press delivery lines. This, in turn, eliminates thousands of moving parts and dozens of people from the layered wood product production process.

  • Patent number: 6124884
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring image qualities of a color display unit includes a color video camera for imaging a display screen of a first color display unit, a central processing unit for measuring image qualities of the display screen of the first color display unit based on an image signal generated by the color video camera, a second color display unit for displaying data of the image qualities measured by the computer, and an image signal generator controllable by the central processing unit for generating an image signal required to measure the image qualities and supplying the image signal to the first color display unit. The central processing unit supplies the image signal generated by the color video camera to the second color display unit to display an image of the display screen of the first color display unit in a predetermined display area on a display screen of the second color display unit for relative positional adjustment between the first color display unit and the color video camera.

  • Patent number: 5970167
Abstract: A method and apparatus for analyzing failures in integrated circuits. A first image is obtained using an emission or electron microscope while an integrated circuit is operating under a first set of conditions. The image is integrated for improved resolution with a camera in front of the microscope screen or with a digitizer coupled to receive video signals from the microscope. The first image is digitized and stored in a first channel of an RGB digitizer board and displayed on a display screen. A second image is obtained in the same way and is digitized and stored in a second channel of the RGB digitizer board and displayed on the display screen. The remaining channel of the RGB digitizer board is coupled to receive live images. The resulting combined image appears as a black and white image so long as the images are aligned. Any differences between the three images will appear conspicuously in color. The input logic levels to the integrated circuit are changed.

  • Patent number: 5956080
Abstract: A printing face inspecting apparatus comprising an illuminating device for illuminating a printing face of an object to be inspected and a plurality of image pickup devices for taking pictures of reflection light from the printing face. The image pickup devices consist of a color camera arranged in approximate a center of the devices, and a plurality of black and white cameras arranged on the outer periphery of the color camera. Both of hue defects and the concentration difference defects can be inspected, and all the defects on the printing face can be detected without fail. The deterioration through detection leakage of the defects can be reduced and the quality of the objects to be inspected can be improved.

  • Patent number: 5917541
Abstract: An input section of a color sense measuring device includes a solid-state camera image-sensing an object to be measured and a frame memory storing output information from the solid-state camera. The output information of the solid-state camera read out of the frame memory is fed to a hue/saturation/lightness transform part in a color sense measuring section for transformation into hue image information, saturation image information and lightness image information for use in measuring the color sense of the object to be measured. Based on the image information output from the color sense measuring section, a feature extract/quantification section extracts a feature value for measuring the color sense of the object and a color sense analysis section judges the color sense of the material of the object on the basis of the feature information output from the feature extract/quantification section, while at the same time the feature information is supplied to an image processing/display part for display.

  • Patent number: 5745168
Abstract: A hole-size measuring system that enables measurement of the size of individual holes of a black matrix layer of a CRT. This system includes an imaging device for producing an enlarged image of holes of a black matrix layer, and an image processor for electrically processing the image produced by the imaging device to measure a size of the holes. A CCD camera may be used as the imaging device. The CCD camera may have an automatic focusing function and is movable along a black matrix layer. For a color CRT, the holes are divided into three groups for red, green and blue colors, and the image processor has functions of measuring an average size of selected ones of the holes in the respective groups.

  • Patent number: 5441047
Abstract: An ambulatory (in the home) patient health monitoring system is disclosed wherein the patient is monitored by a health care worker at a central station, while the patient is at a remote location. The patient may be a person having a specific medical condition monitored or may be an elderly person desiring general medical surveillance in the home environment. Cameras are provided at the patient's remote location and at the central station such that the patient and the health care worker are in interactive visual and audio communication. A communications network such as an interactive cable television is used for this purpose. Various medical condition sensing and monitoring equipment are placed in the patient's home, depending on the particular medical needs of the patient. The patient's medical condition is measured or sensed in the home and the resulting data is transmitted to the central station for analysis and display.

  • Patent number: 5315384
Abstract: A color line scan video camera (50) for inspecting articles (18) includes a prismatic beam splitter arrangement (52) that receives a wide spectrum of visible light from a variable magnification objective lens arrangement (54) to provide improved multi-color inspection capability. The prismatic beam splitter separates the light received from the scanned articles into three preselected spectral bands of light, each of which is imaged upon a different charge-coupled device line scan sensor that generates a corresponding color component video signal. The light transmission characteristics of the lens are "color-corrected" to transmit uniformly the light received from the scanned articles.
