Abstract: The present disclosure relates to folder-based data organization method and system. The method may include obtaining a keyword hierarchy for a plurality of documents. The keyword hierarchy may be configured for organizing the plurality of documents and include a plurality of levels for the keyword hierarchy. The method may further include generating a folder directory in a data storage system based on the keyword hierarchy. A folder hierarchy of the folder directory reflects at least a portion of the keyword hierarchy and folders in the folder hierarchy are named based on corresponding keywords in the at least a portion of the keyword hierarchy. The method may further include determining a target folder for storing one of the documents in the folder directory based on the keyword hierarchy path associated with the document and storing the document to the target folder in the folder directory.

Abstract: Systems and processes are provided for joint video production in an electronic device including receiving a first video stream from a first video capture device, determining an availability of a first decoder, coupling the first video stream to the first decoder in response to the first decoder being available, receiving a second video stream from a second video capture device, determining the availability of the first decoder, coupling the second video stream to a network interface for decoding by an external decoder in response to the first decoder decoding the first video stream, receiving a first decoded video stream from the first decoder, receiving a second decoded video stream from the network interface, and displaying the first decoded video stream and the second decoded video stream on a user interface.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for controlling the playback and recording of television programming containing interactive applications. In particular, the disclosed methods and systems detail how “trick modes” can be handled when playing applications that are distributed with the television programming.

Abstract: A method to select a number of fibers for ROADM-equipped nodes of an optical network by which a controller is operative to determine which links are utilized as well as their usage frequencies and then partition a scale of usage frequencies into a number of intervals. By assigning a number of fibers to each one of the intervals, a number of fibers is assigned to each link, according to their usage frequencies, setting the degree for ROADMs at the nodes. Simulations can evaluate the network's performance in terms of a blocking rate representing an overall signal blocking rate by the ROADMs at network nodes. The number of intervals, their ranges, and the number of fibers associated with each interval can be iterated until an improved or satisfactory network performance is achieved.

Abstract: The method, apparatus, and computer program product provided herein provide for distribution of customized content to displays in a network. A display may receive video content for display from a transceiver device. Channel configurations may be user-configured to include content from any number of sources. Channel content may be generated based on a channel configuration to incorporate identified content and the channel content may be provided to transceiver devices. Alert messages may be pushed to channels, and takeovers of transceiver devices to stream a particular channel may be performed.

Abstract: In accordance with the technique described herein, a home shopping content suitable for a specific viewer can be dynamically selected and provided using viewing histories of a home shopping channel. Particularly, a home shopping content in which a large number of viewers are interested can be provided by dynamically selecting a home shopping content using product classification groups specified for receivers using an interest index calculated based on a bounce rate defined by the technique described herein.

Abstract: A mobile device is coupled to a computer system configured to access media content sources and play media content items provided thereby on a media device. The mobile device receives a first control specification that includes a plurality of first information items each associated with one of the media content sources and a first action definition. The first information items are concurrently displayed on a remote control user interface of the mobile device. In accordance with a selection of one of the first information items corresponding to a first content source, the mobile device transmits a command of a first action definition corresponding to the selected first information item to the computer system, and receives a second control specification that includes a plurality of second information items. Each second information item is associated with a respective content item provided by the first content source and a second action definition.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and programming for updating a search index are described herein. In a non-limiting embodiment, event data representing actions performed on a plurality of content items managed via the search index may be obtained. The event data may be filtered based on pre-determined criteria to generate updated event data, where the updated event data represents relevant actions performed on at least one of the plurality of content items and are associated with the search index. An updated search index based on the updated event data may then be generated.

Abstract: The invention relates to techniques for content encryption with dynamic keys over encrypted protocols (P), like SSL/TLS. The method comprises a step (S41) in which a random key is to automatically and dynamically generated. This generated random key is then asymmetrically encrypted (S42). The enriched variable is encrypted symmetrically (S43) with the generated random key. So far, two intermediate results may be provided, namely a first intermediate result with the encrypted generated random key and a second intermediate result with the encrypted enriched variable. Both intermediate results are then prepared (S44, S45) as custom records. In particular, a first custom record with the encrypted generated random key and a second custom record with the encrypted enriched variable are prepared for injection in a stream of the transport layer protocol (P).

Abstract: The systems described herein are configured to generate an auditable digital certificate upon receiving a request for user information associated with a user of the plurality of users and determining that authorization from the user is required The digital certificate comprises: a unique identifier associated with the requester, a context of the request, and a date and time associated with the request. The system then sends an authorization request that includes: a request for consent to grant the request from the requester, and a request for identity verification evidence. Upon receiving the consent and identity verification evidence, the system adds to the digital certificate: a unique identifier associated with the user, the consent, and a date and time associated with receipt of the consent. Finally, the system closes and tamperproofs the digital certificate before storing the digital certificate in a certificate database.

Using an activity profile of the account holder, a determination is made to enable chained transactions during the account holder's use of the transaction machine. Abstract: A managed container may have a managed cache storing content managed by or through an application gateway server computer. The managed container may receive a request for content from an application running in a secure shell provided by the managed container on a client device. The managed container may determine whether the client device is within a specified geographical location. If not, the managed container may deny or restrict the application access to the requested content. The access denial or restriction may continue until a connection is made to the application gateway server computer or until the client device has returned to within the specified geographical location. If the client device is within the specified geographical location, the managed container may provide or restore access to requested content. Embodiments of the managed container can therefore perform geofencing by disabling or limiting access to content based on predetermined secure/insecure designations.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for seamless media content switching during fixed-duration breaks. A user can request that a first media content item played by a client device during a fixed-length break be skipped. A server can determine an amount of time remaining in the break, determine an updated playlist of one or more media content items that together at least partially but not completely consume the entire amount of remaining time, and provide the updated playlist to the client device. The client device can determine a delay duration amount of time that it will continue playing the first media content item before skipping to a media content item from the updated playlist. This delay duration is determined such that the entire break can be filled with media content without any dead air or clipped media content.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for generation and playback of supplemented videos which include interactive features. The supplemented video includes hotspots that allow a video viewer to interact with the video when the video viewer sees an object. The hotspots can be manually defined. Information regarding the object and the hotspot can be stored in a separate XML file. Furthermore, the present invention can be a marketplace where a desired object can be found by searching the XML file. The search results can list the supplemented videos which contain hotspots corresponding to the object and also the time in the supplemented video in which the object is found. The present invention can also aggregate data about the objects based on the playback of the supplemented videos and the video viewer's interaction with the supplemented videos.

Abstract: A picture with multiple slices is encoded by generating a coded slice representation for each of the slices. A slice flag is set to a first value for the first slice in the picture and corresponding slice flags of the remaining slices are set to a second defined value. A respective slice address is generated for each remaining slice to enable identification of the slice start position within the picture for the slice. A coded picture representation of the picture comprises the coded slice representations, the slice addresses and the slice flags. The slice flags enable differentiation between slices for which slice addresses are required and the slice per picture for which no slice address is needed to identify its slice start position.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for provisioning or updating software over a network. In one embodiment, the network comprises a cable network, and each particular client device (e.g., set-top box) on the network is identified by an address or other unique descriptor. A version association file stored on a server or downloaded to the device maps particular application versions to one or more addresses corresponding to individual client devices. When the version association file is modified or created, the server transmits an upgrade message over the network (optionally along with the current version association file). Upon receiving an upgrade message, a set-top box accesses the version association file, and compares a designated application version to that of the application currently in use. If the designated version is not present on the set-top, the box will terminate any old version of the application currently running and download and install the designated version.

In one embodiment, a content provider creates a license identifying one or more slots within an electronic content item at which advertisements are to be inserted. The license specifies one or more types of advertisements that are not permitted to be inserted into the slots, and also specifies criteria for dynamically selecting advertisements to insert into the one or more slots. The content provider securely associates the electronic license with the electronic content item and distributes the electronic content item and the electronic license to a third party for consumption or subsequent transfer to an end user.

Abstract: A home automation (HA) system may include a cloud media content server and HA operation devices within a structure. The HA system may also include HA user interface devices for respective users within the structure. Each HA user interface device may wirelessly communicate with at least one of the HA operation devices to perform an HA operation and provide stored media content to the respective user. The HA system may also include HA hub devices within the structure to provide communications for the cloud media content server, HA user interface devices, and HA operation devices. A designated HA hub device may download media content from the cloud media content server and push the downloaded media content to other HA user interface devices within the structure so that the other HA user interface devices do not communicate with the cloud media content server relating to the downloaded media content.

Abstract: Web-based interaction with building automation is provided. The interaction, regardless of the access point, is browser based. For IP access, hypertext protocol (http) communications of the browser are performed. The web-enabled controller serves responses with building automation information. For non-IP access, a web-server operating as an application in the same device as the browser intercepts the http communication and reformats the communication as appropriate for the non-IP access. Based on a response from the building automation system, the device local web-server responds to the browser. For communicating across different types of networks in the building automation system, controllers may use the embedded web-server to reformat as needed and route requests. The same look, feel, functionality, and/or usability may be provided using the browser regardless of the connectivity to the building automation network.

Abstract: A secure programming system can receive a job control package having a security kernel and a target payload of content for programming into a pre-defined set of trusted devices. A device programmer can install a security kernel on the trusted devices and reboot the trusted devices using the security kernel to validate the proper operation of the security kernel. The target payload can then be securely installed on the trusted devices and validated.

A Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) request from a User Equipment (UE) is received, in which the request carries an option for indicating returning a domain name of a local domain where the UE is located; and the domain name of the local domain where the UE is located is obtained according to the DHCP request, and the domain name of the local domain where the UE is located is carried in a DHCP reply message to be returned to the UE. A device and system for obtaining a local domain name are also provided.

Abstract: In various examples, there is a computer-implemented method for providing packages for processing on a computer system. The method creates a secure connection to an enclave and retrieves a quote to verify that the enclave is genuine and that it contains a predetermined process. The predetermined process is configured to create an enclave for itself and determine that an initial state of the computer system is equivalent to a predetermined state based on a quote retrieved from a security module. The predetermined process is further configured to receive a package to be processed by the computer system and cause the processor to process the package outside of the enclave. In response to verifying the enclave, the method provides a package to be processed by the computer system.
