  • Patent number: 7146501
Abstract: In encoder side, an electronic watermark generating device generates an electronic watermark which contains a encryption key. An electronic watermark inserting device inserts the electronic watermark containing the encryption key into a first portion of data. An encrypting device encrypts a second portion of the data with the encryption key. The first portion into which the watermark containing the encryption key has been inserted and the second portion which has been encrypted with the encryption key are combined by a switch and thereafter recorded on a record medium or transmitted to a network. In decoder side, the watermark containing the encryption key is extracted from the first portion and the encryption key is extracted from the watermark. The second portion is decrypted with the extracted encryption key.

  • Patent number: 5751398
Abstract: A digital time code is printed in an area of a motion picture film, between the normal analog optical sound track and the picture frames, that is exposed along with the sound track when a print is made. This area is partially redeveloped, and normally reserved to isolate the analog sound track from the picture frames. Digital audio for the motion picture is stored in a large capacity high integrity archival digital storage system. The time codes corresponding to known locations on the film are read as the film is played, and in an anticipatory pass the digital audio signals for these frames are transferred to a fast access data storage buffer which temporarily stores the data before it is converted to analog format for theater play. The time code is read with light that is absorbed by the film dyes produced when the film is developed.

  • Patent number: 4054920
Abstract: A circuit for storing a control signal on a selected length of strip material such as a magnetic tape having a tape head associated therewith and provided with longitudinally spaced marking signals. The circuit includes a control signal generator arranged to be switched on by a control unit to produce a control signal which is applied to the selected length of strip material, and a first detector responsive to the marking signals for switching off the control signal generator when a marking signal is sensed in one direction of movement of the tape material together with a second detection responsive to the stored control signal for switching on the control signal generator during the movement of the tape in the other direction to store the control signal throughout the selected length of strip material, the first detector switching off the control signal generator when the other marking signal is sensed by the first detector.
