Abstract: A lens barrel that can realize increased shooting magnification and slimming down of an image pickup apparatus without increasing drive load and optical accuracy error in driving the lens barrel along an optical axis. A cam follower follows cam grooves in a cam cylinder to move along the optical axis, and engages with a lens holding frame to move the same from a retracted state to a shooting state. A compression coil spring urges the cam follower and the lens holding frame in such a direction as to draw them away from each other, and when the cam follower moves from the shooting state to the retracted state, engages with the lens holding frame to move the same toward an image plane. A fixed portion coming into abutment with the lens holding frame restricts movement of the lens holding frame toward the image plane.

The method then controls the image receiving unit to receive the images, which are regarded as candidate images, projected on the positions by the projection unit. The candidate images correspond to the projective positions. The method further receives the candidate images captured by the image receiving unit, and compute their definitions. Therefore, the image with a greatest definition may be acquired and regarded as a focus image. The focus image's corresponding position is a focus position. After acquiring the focus position, an image may be projected thereon. The illustrated computing device is enabled to complete the image focusing automatically.

Abstract: An image display apparatus includes a projector receiving an image signal and projecting image light and a screen including a projection plane of arbitrary shape. The projector and screen are connected with link mechanisms and link mechanisms. The relative position and posture between the projector and the screen are automatically or manually changeable. The relative position and posture between the projector and the screen are measured, and correction parameters for correcting distortion of image light projected from the projector onto the screen are calculated from the previously set viewing position of the viewer and the shape of the projection plane of the projector. Based on the calculated correction parameters, the image signal inputted into the projector is subjected to distortion correction processing. It is therefore possible to allow the viewer to see a clear image even if the position of the screen is changed.
