Abstract: Cooling air conveyed through a cooling duct 3 is supplied to a discharge lamp 10 via a cooling air exit 21 having a plurality of flow paths 23a to 23c partitioned by a partition plate 22. An air flow direction changeover section 24 changes a flow path through which the discharge lamp is supplied with the cooling air from the cooling air exit. • Patent number: 8662674
Abstract: Provided is a method for controlling a cooling device that includes pump (1) having pump characteristics defined by a relationship between the number of revolutions and a pressure value, and cooling fan (5), and the cooling device cools an object to be cooled by a cool wind generated by injecting air compressed by pump (1) and a cooling wind of cooling fan (5). The method includes: preparing beforehand a first parameter to associate an altitude with a change rate d of a gradient of the pump characteristics at one altitude with respect to a gradient of the pump characteristics at another altitude; and controlling the numbers of revolutions of pump (1) and cooling fan (5) based on an altitude calculated from the first parameter and the change rate d.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a light source device comprises an arc tube having a first sealing portion extending from a light emission portion. A reflection mirror is attached to neighbor the first sealing portion and has a concave reflection surface. A container accommodates the arc tube and the reflection mirror. A branch portion has a first opening which branches a part of a cooling air flowing within the container to guide the cooling air to the arc tube. First and second duct portions are each connected to the branch portion. The first and second duct portions extend along a center axis of a light reflected by the reflection mirror such that the air flows in a direction opposite to a traveling direction of the light reflected by the reflection surface. A guiding member directs the air toward the first or second duct portion by moving by its own weight.
