With Light Shading Chamber Patents (Class 356/62)
  • Patent number: 6992756
Abstract: A motion detection system, and more particularly, a non-contact, movement-measurement and position-tracking device, and a method of applying the device on long, non-textured or regularly textured metal objects at an elevated temperature are invented. The invention takes advantage of the oxidation marks, also known as scale, on the surface of the metal object to track the motion. The oxidation marks are typically random and irregular, providing a means for pattern tracking using imaging technologies.

  • Patent number: 5592288
Abstract: An optical component assembly is created with reduced defects in the adhesion and alignment between the optical components. A first rigid optical component is placed into a cavity. A second rigid optical component is placed into the cavity such that it is supported by a first support device which prevents a first end of the second rigid optical component from contacting a corresponding first end of the first rigid optical component. Air is evacuated from a chamber formed between the first and second rigid optical components. The support of the first support device is removed so that the first end of the second rigid optical component comes into contact with the first end of the first rigid optical component with a layer of adhesive material sandwiched therebetween. A force is applied to urge surfaces of the first and second rigid optical components toward one another to improve adhesion between the two.

  • Patent number: 4696546
Abstract: Examining apparatus includes a base portion, a telescoping portion, an illuminating portion, a power supplying portion and a specimen displaying portion. The base portion includes a bottom section and a first sidewall section extending upwardly therefrom. The telescoping portion includes a top section and a second sidewall section extending downwardly therefrom with the top section including a magnifying lens. The second sidewall section is of a size and configuration to provide adjustable overlapping engagement with the first sidewall section. The illuminating portion includes a first support member disposed within the base portion substantially parallel to the bottom section and spaced therefrom. The first support member includes a plurality of spaced first openings with a light emitting diode lamp disposed withing each first opening. The power supplying portion includes circuitry connecting the light emitting diode lamps electrically with a power source and mechanism for actuating the lamps.
