Abstract: A varied least recently used (VLRU) caching technique is used to enable print data to be available at a cache of a client for printing, even after an agent performs a deletion of a hash value for the print data at a cache of the agent. The deletion of the print data (cached at the cache of the client) is postponed at the client device via the use of a waiting list, so that the cached print data can be printed at a physical printer of the client, in response to receiving a delayed print job from the agent that specifies the hash value as a result of a deduplication process performed by the agent.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a first control circuit, a second control circuit, and a third control circuit. The first control circuit communicates with an information processing device. The second control circuit is configured to communicate with the first control circuit. The third control circuit is configured to communicate with the second control circuit and control a printer. The first control circuit is configured to receive print information from the information processing device during a power-saving mode and control the start of the second control circuit based on the print information. The second control circuit is configured to control a power supply to the third control circuit based on the start by the first control circuit and transmit, to the third control circuit, a warm-up start instruction for the printer based on the print information acquired from the first control circuit after communication with the third control circuit becomes possible.

An item image for the publication is accessed. A profile image using the item image is generated. A non-reusable data section of each of the incomplete packets and the reusable data section of the complete packet are reconstructed to output reconstructed packets according to the data location.

A device, detected by a voice-capturing endpoint within a defined geographical location, may be authenticated according to a unique identification (ID). Voice data received from the voice-capturing endpoint can be authenticated. The authenticated identity can be established according to the authenticated device and the authenticated voice data. A command, received via a voice command from the voice-capturing endpoint, may be issued with the authenticated identity to access the one or more services and/or resources associated with the service provider environment according to the plurality of policies.

Abstract: A printing device is implemented to activate a hidden function by inputting tap sequences on a tap screen. The hidden function includes displaying an icon of a title of a secret document on a display screen without showing the content of the secret document. A method for activating the hidden function using tap sequences is also disclosed. The method compares the input tap sequences with a plurality sets of predetermined codes, each of which corresponds to a hidden function. When the input tap sequences match one set of predetermined codes, the method activates and executes the hidden function. By executing the hidden function, the secret document is printed. The tap sequences are tapping actions that do not generate tangible symbols that are reviewable on the tap screen. By doing so, the confidential document is further protected.

The selection screen may cause a user to select a print setting from among the actual print condition.
