  • Patent number: 8174537
Abstract: A method and system for adaptive color space conversion includes a color space converter, a brightness adaptive controller and a soft clipper. The color space converter receives a first color space format signal and converts the first color space format signal into a second color space format signal. The brightness adaptive controller is connected to the color space converter in order to produce a gain and an offset based on a brightness value. The soft clipper is connected to the color space converter and the brightness adaptive controller in order to clip the second color space format signal based on the gain and the offset to thereby produce a corrected second color space format signal.

  • Patent number: 8027060
Abstract: A tone evaluation method acquires color information on the second color space of a patch image corresponding to a grid point in the first color space, and calculates as the feature amount of a color conversion table the variation of the color information between two grid points in the first color space. Then, on the basis of the feature amount, a tone evaluation value for the color conversion table is calculated. In addition, on the basis of the variation of the feature amount, a tone jump position in the color conversion table is extracted and displayed.

  • Patent number: 7990392
Abstract: White balancing is performed using a mapping that maps the visible gamut's boundary into itself. A predefined color Win is mapped into a color Wout which is a white color or a color perceived as white under some viewing conditions. If Sin is some other color, a corresponding color Pin is determined on the visible gamut's boundary. Pin can be on the intersection of the visible gamut's boundary with a plane containing Sin and Win in a linear color coordinate system. Sin is mapped into a color Sout obtained from Wout and a value of the mapping on Pin.

  • Patent number: 7986434
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a color space transformation system and method employing multiple three-dimensional linear interpolations. First, N-channel multi-dimensional color space color image data is received into a color lookup table, which includes entries having values in a multi-dimensional color space corresponding to selected values in an N-channel multi-dimensional color space, with N being any integer greater than 2. Values in the color lookup table are then addressed in accordance with the received image data. Next, 2N/8 three-dimensional interpolations are then applied to an output of the lookup table corresponding to the received image data. Thereafter, (2N/8?1)*3 linear interpolations are then performed among outputs from the three-dimensional interpolation. Transformed image data is then output in accordance with an output of the linear interpolation.
