  • Publication number: 20120162795
Abstract: A lens barrel includes: a lens holder; and an imaging lens that includes a plurality of lenses inserted in the lens holder, the plurality being at least three, wherein a resin spacer having elasticity in an optical axis direction is disposed between the lenses that affect field curvature, and the resin spacer is deformed and fixed in position by compressing a space between the lenses that affect the field curvature. Accordingly, the space between the lenses that tend to affect the field curvature is compressed to elastically deform the resin spacer in an optical axis direction, to thereby make it possible to adjust an interval between the lenses. Consequently, it is possible to correct the field curvature, to thereby prevent lowering of resolution.

Abstract: A lens module includes a holder, a connecting loop, engaging pins, an adjustment ring, a fixing pin; and a lens unit. The holder includes a barrel having a receiving space. The barrel defines sliding slots. The adjustment ring defines guiding grooves and a stopping slot. The connecting loop is received in the receiving space, the adjustment ring is sleeved over the barrel, and each engaging pin is secured with the connecting loop, an end of each engaging pin passing through a corresponding sliding slot and into a corresponding guiding groove. The fixing pin passes through the stopping slot and fixed with the barrel, the lens unit is secured with the connecting loop, the adjustment ring is rotated relative to the holder, and the engaging pin slides along the guiding groove, to cause the lens unit to axially move without rotating relative to the holder.

  • Patent number: 8033670
Abstract: The invention provides, in some aspects, devices for image acquisition that use seals (e.g., O-rings) between concentrically disposed portions of an enclosure and an optics assembly (or sub-assemblies thereof) in order to protect image acquisition components from the surrounding environment (and vice versa) while, at the same time, providing adequate friction for both adjusting and locking focus. Such devices include, in one aspect of the invention, an image capture medium (e.g., a CMOS sensor, CCD array, etc.) that is disposed within an enclosure and an optics assembly that is also disposed within that enclosure, rotatably. The optics assembly, which includes at least a lens, can have a cylindrical outer diameter along at least a portion of its length that is received within the enclosure along a length that has a corresponding cylindrical inner diameter. A first seal (e.g., an “O-ring”) is disposed between, and in contact with, the optics assembly and the enclosure, e.g., along these corresponding lengths.
