  • Patent number: 5458174
Abstract: A threadedly engageable tire stud includes an elongated steel housing having a hexagonal head section and a threaded section of enlarged pitch for securely engaging a tire thread wherein the head section has approximately the same diameter as a major diameter of the threaded section. A longitudinally extended aperture is provided in the hexagonal head section for receiving an elongated carbide pin. The carbide pin is brazed to the elongated steel housing and protrudes out of the head section of the housing for engaging the road surface to improve traction of the tire.

  • Patent number: 4984377
Abstract: Conventional fishing waders are made adaptable for use under a plurality of conditions by utilizing different types of removably attachable spikes and cleats. Additionally, the soles of the waders may be covered with a felt material. The removable spikes are used with sand and gravel surfaces, and the removable metal cleats are best used for swift moving water and slippery rocks. The felt covered soles provide improved wader traction over larger sizes of gravel and rocks.

  • Patent number: 4167071
Abstract: One golf shoe of a pair of golf shoes worn by a golfer is designed to aid the golfer to take a strong, braced stance with his right foot if he is a right-handed golfer or with his left foot if he is a left-handed golfer. This is accomplished by making the spikes on the outer edge or periphery of the shoe longer than the other spikes on the same shoe and on the other shoe. The spikes may also or alternatively be thicker for resistance to penetration into the ground or for added strength. The spikes may also be broader on the bottom or elsewhere to prevent too much penetration into the grass or dirt.
