  • Patent number: 7189922
Abstract: An electrical component protective cover for an appliance has an upper portion and a lower panel portion. The upper portion forms a cavity within a housing having a plurality of walls, which form a perimeter around the electrical component. At least one vent in at least one sidewall of the housing vents air and enables moisture to escape from the interior of the housing. A strip of barrier material is positioned between an edge of the perimeter of the housing and the appliance, the barrier material being a narrow piece of a resilient caulk material to impede liquid or moisture from entering the interior of the housing. The protective cover attaches to the electrical component using attachment receptacles such as female tab recesses. The lower portion has an aperture intermediate the upper portion and the lower portion to provide electrical component access through the cover without removing the cover.

  • Patent number: 7171461
Abstract: A vertical-mount network remote power management outlet strip embodiment of the present invention comprises a long, thin outlet strip body with several independently controllable power outlet sockets distributed along its length. A power input cord is provided at one end, and this supplies AC-operating power to relays associated with each of the power outlet sockets. The relays are each addressably controlled by a microprocessor connected to an internal I2C-bus serial communications channel. The power-on status of each relay output to the power outlet sockets is sensed and communicated back on the internal I2C-bus. A device-networking communications processor with an embedded operating system translates messages, status, and controls between the internal I2C-bus and an Ethernet port, and other external networks.

The opposite surface of the ceramic layer has a metallic pattern including base areas for high power, high frequency load switching MOSFETs. Lead frames are soldered between the lead frame base areas and base contact areas of the MOSFET packages. Thermal conduction between the MOSFETs and the heat sink dissipates the heat from switching losses. A gate drive circuit board for the load switching system is supported spaced from the and is separated from the MOSFETs by a thermally blocking air gap, with the component side of the gate drive circuit board facing away from the MOSFETs. Abstract: A meter/breaker arrangement having separate covers for the meter side and breaker side. The meter side includes as an extension thereof a rain gutter which underlaps a flange on the breaker cover to provide a rain-proof or water-proof enclosure when both covers are disposed securely on the enclosure. In addition, a locking arrangement is provided so that the breaker cover can be removed without allowing access to the meter region. Alternatively, both the meter cover and breaker cover can be removed. A flexible, partially non-electrically conductive, security member is provided for separating the meter side from the breaker side.

Abstract: Semiconductor device according to the present invention includes package frame, bonding wire, pad, first internal power supply line, second internal power supply line, internal circuit, stabilize circuit, GND package frame, GND bonding wire, GND pad, and internal GND line. Bonding wire, pad, and first and second internal power supply lines and function as a filter. As a result, noise generated by operation of internal circuit is absorbed in propagating to stabilize circuit through first internal power supply line, pad, and second internal power supply line. Therefore, effects of noise given to stabilize circuit is small.

  • Patent number: 6320732
Abstract: The present invention provides a power distribution system with a split section panelboard that provides two interior sections. Each section is supplied power from a separate power source. A common bus bridges the two sections. Remotely-operated circuit breakers for both the sections are connected to the common bus. A power interface unit converts power from one of the power sources to provide low voltage power for the circuit breaker motors and a control unit. The control unit in the panelboard controls the operation of the circuit breakers of both the sections.

  • Patent number: 6278619
Abstract: The invention concerns a disconnecting appliance, such as a switch, a fuse-disconnecting switch or breaker-reversing switch, having a novel arrangement of fixed and moving contacts promoting contact surface self-cleaning and increasing contact force for the same contact force applied by the cam. Moreover, it comprises a newly designed cam for actuation the mobile contacts to optimize to the maximum the operating conditions when engaging and releasing. The appliance is characterized in that the moving contacts (35, 36) comprise two contact surfaces (38) arranged in substantially perpendicular planes, corresponding with those (27) of the fixed contacts (31, 31′ and 33, 33′), each moving contact (35, 36) moving in radial translation relative to the control shaft (23) along a direction (F) substantially perpendicular to a straight line passing through its two contact surfaces (38).

  • Patent number: 6252310
Abstract: An electrical distribution system and method has storage battery mechanism of very large equivalent capacitance providing excellent ripple filtering and an ideal path to ground, and filter capacitor mechanism of microfarad size providing DC blocking and limited AC path to ground. The storage battery entity is maintained as to its charge by DC supply, which provides regulated DC power in which switching regulation may be involved. The system and method provides dual voltage capability, both DC and AC, in which circuit breakers may be ganged for simultaneous tripping, and in which intrinsic DC circuit(s) may be looped to increase current-carrying capability. A DC isolation capacitor is connected to a common current path, such as to one of the busses, such as, for example, in series with the neutral circuit, as a means for avoiding undesirable DC current paths as may be encountered due to a multitude of established neutral-line connections to earthing grounds established throughout in AC power supply network.

Abstract: Icon indicia are provided on input, output and plug-in power processing units to permit proper matching of plug-in units with each other and with the input and output power processing units in a power distribution system. The indicia are in a co-ordinated matrix format with input icons on a designated chroma background to identify input voltages and output icons on a second designated chroma background to identify output voltages. Icons and background chroma on the plug-in power processing units are coordinated with related icons and background chroma at the same matrix position on other plug-in units and/or the input and output units to assure the compatibility of all the units. A craftsman inserting a plug-in unit onto a shelf of the power chassis need merely compare the unit's icon and chroma background indicia with the input, output, or other unit's icons and associated chroma background indicia to be assured of inserting the correct plug-in unit into the particular shelf.
