  • Patent number: 5684670
Abstract: A control switch with a holder is to be provided which can simply and quickly be secured by one person to a variable-thickness fitting plate. To this end the rose (9) of the control switch has a longitudinal groove (11) and a transverse groove (12). The holder which can be fitted on the rose (9) consists of a lower casing (14), a securing ring (5) and an upper casing (23). The lower casing (14) and the securing ring (5) have matching pitches (20, 6) so that when the securing ring (5) is rotated via a toothed spindle (7) fitted off-center it is axially shifted. After the holder has been fitted on the rose, when the securing ring (5) is rotated, a partial thread (18) fitted thereto is rotated out of the longitudinal groove (11) into the transverse groove (12) and thus pressed by the simultaneous axial movement of the partial thread (18) against the limiting edge of the transverse groove (12) taking the form of a thread segment (13).

  • Patent number: 5675194
Abstract: A modular power distribution system is ideally suited for use in modular buildings of the type in which prefabricated building modules are constructed at a manufacturing factory and shipped to a remote building site where the modules are interconnected to form the complete structure. The modular power distribution system includes a primary power distribution panel positioned in one of the building modules and is adapted to distribute power from the utility service to the building modules. Modular power distribution units positioned in each of the building modules are adapted to distribute power within a respective building module. The primary power distribution panel has a plurality of main circuit breakers, each of which is electrically connected between the utility service and one of the modular power distribution units for limiting the maximum current through a respective modular power distribution unit.

  • Patent number: 5666267
Abstract: An audio I/O connector, a flex cable, an audio I/O extension card, a mounting bracket, and a besel, designed to couple and complement each other in a particular geometrical manner, are provided to conduct I/O of audio signals at the front panel area of a Baby-AT/LPX and the like system unit previously sealing the hard drive bay. The audio I/O connector reorients an otherwise conventional audio add-in/adapter card to conduct I/O of audio signals through the frontal portion of the Baby-AT/LPX and the like system unit. The flex cable transports the audio I/O signals to and from the front and back portions of the Baby-AT/LPX and the like system unit. The audio I/O extension card facilities conduct of audio I/O with external audio devices at the front panel, the aforementioned area in particular. The mounting bracket secures the audio I/O extension card to the hard drive bay. The besel exposes audio I/O ports of the audio I/O extension card at the front panel area of interest.

  • Patent number: 5627720
Abstract: A power distribution box is provided with built in surge suppression capabilities that can be service without interrupting power to downline circuits powered from the power distribution box. A socket is wired directly to the busses supplying power to the circuit breakers in the power distribution box. The socket is designed to accept a surge suppression module that can be removed and replaced while the electrical connections in the socket are "hot." To prevent accidental electrocution the electrical contacts of the socket are place below the surface of the socket. Additionally, the stab-in connectors of the socket and the corresponding stabs of the surge suppression module are arranged in such a way as to ensure that the module is properly polarized when inserted into the socket.

  • Patent number: 5574623
Abstract: A method of producing a molded assembly for at least partially encapsulating a touch panel structure. The method includes providing a touch panel structure which has a front side, a reverse side and an edge extending therebetween. A circuit is attached to the panel structure and includes at least one device. The panel is positioned in a cavity of a plastic injection mold which includes a hollow shutoff positioned relative to the device on the touch panel. When the mold is closed, a rim portion of the hollow shutoff is positioned against the reverse side of the panel spaced away from the device so as to at least partially shield the portion of the panel containing the device from the injection molding environment. The present invention also envisions a product produced by this method.

  • Patent number: 5483417
Abstract: In a power board, network transformers are disposed horizontally to reduce their height, network buses are disposed above the network transformers and a protector breaker and take-off breakers are disposed at the front of the power board in electric chambers and connected to the network buses. This arrangement places the two types of breakers and the electric chambers within the range of height accessible by an operator's hand to permit him to manually handle these breakers, thereby improving ease of handling of the power board.
