  • Patent number: 5704804
Abstract: A watthour meter socket adapter electrically connects an external sealing ring and/or a metal cover ring on a watthour meter to ground. A surge ground conductor is mounted on an end mounting flange of the socket adapter housing and extends within and is joined to the housing by a first metal fastener. One end of the first metal fastener extends exteriorly of the housing and supports a first metal tab which is engaged by the metal sealing ring. A second metal fastener extends through the surge ground conductor and supports a second external tab engagable with a grounded meter socket cover. Alternately, a tab extends integrally from an upper end of the surge ground conductor for engagement with the sealing ring. In another embodiment, an annular surge ground conductor is mounted within an annular sidewall of a watthour meter socket adapter housing.

  • Patent number: 5672823
Abstract: A front removable gauge assembly including a case gauge housing for locking the assembly to an instrument panel. A printed circuit board is mounted within the case gauge housing in electrical contact with conductors of a connector shell which extends from the case gauge housing for electrically connecting elements on the printed circuit board to an instrument signal source. A front removable gauge unit is removably mounted within the case gauge housing and contains an instrument assembly which can be mounted for 90-degree or 255-degree pointer sweep. From the bottom of the front removable gauge unit, a connector stud and wiper contacts extend. The connector stud has a protruding key which engages the bottom surface of the printed circuit board upon clockwise rotation of the front removable gauge unit to thereby removably lock it to the printed circuit boards.

  • Patent number: 5503271
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for enclosing and protecting an electric meter for storage or transport purposes. The apparatus is comprised of a base unit and a cover unit of rigid plastic that provide both shock and thermal protection to the meter. An inwardly extending ring on both the base and cover encloses the meter's flange, thus centering and immobilizing the meter in the case. Both the cover and base unit also have protruding lips of slightly different sizes so that the cover lip accepts the base lip within it. In addition, each lip is threaded, so as to attachably engage with the other and, when rotated, lock the cover, the base and the meter together.

  • Patent number: 5400212
Abstract: A preconstruction utility meter pedestal for the purpose of providing underground electrical and communication service to a building construction site after a foundation has been constructed but before a building has been erected upon the foundation. The pedestal comprises an elongated, vertical electrical service rigid steel conduit for conducting electrical service from an underground electrical service system to a utility meter box mounted on the upper end of the conduit and having an electric meter mounted therein. The rigid steel conduit is adapted to be fastened by an upper and a lower mounting plate, respectively, to the front face of the foundation. A communication cable plastic conduit, and a temporary electrical power box are carried by the electrical service rigid steel conduit. The electrical service rigid steel conduit supports a telephone interface box mounting bracket for the reception of an interface telephone box.

  • Patent number: 5385486
Abstract: A watthour meter socket adapter includes at least one additional jaw terminal for receiving one blade terminal of a plurality of blade terminals of a watthour meter, which blade terminals are provided in a greater number than the available jaw terminals in a watthour meter socket which normally receive the line and load blade terminals of the watthour meter. The additional blade terminal extends through and outward from the watthour meter socket adapter housing. An electrical connector is mounted on the additional blade terminal externally of the watthour meter socket adapter housing for electrically receiving an electrical conductor in the socket adapter not normally connected to the line and load jaw and blade terminals in the socket adapter. A jumper is disposed within the watthour meter socket adapter housing and extends between selected additional jaw and blade terminals in the watthour meter socket adapter.
