Patent number: 8419204Abstract: A ring has a sphere on a band and is worn on the finger of a sports fan. An electrical circuit includes a power source and two LEDs. An antenna allows the ring circuit to receive signals sent wirelessly. A three position switch changes the settings of the circuit. When the switch is in a middle position, the ring is disconnected from its power source. When the switch is in one or the other of the other two positions, the wireless receiver components can receive signals from a transmitting unit. The ring is preferably worn by a sports fan at a sporting event, and upon switching the switch to the position associated with the team the fan supports, the ring can receive signals. Signals will be transmitted from the transmitting unit, and will cause the ring to flash the LED. Rings worn by fans flash in support of the fans' team.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2011Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Inventor: Grover M. Hermann, II

Patent number: 7469695Abstract: A method for manufacturing a single stone into a regular dodecahedral ornament or a regular icosahedral ornament, and the ornament manufactured according to the method are provided. The method enables the ornament to be manufactured at low costs with ease without using a complicated, numerically computer-controlled shaping machine. The geometric features determining the faces and ridges of a regular dodecahedron or a regular icosahedron are drawn as cutting base lines on each surface of a cubic workpiece. On a face formed by cutting based on the cutting base lines, new auxiliary cutting lines are sequentially drawn by marking. Then, based on these auxiliary cutting lines and the remaining cutting base lines, a possible cut face is determined, which is in turn cut using a cutting tool. The cutting base lines which are erased after each cutting are complemented by auxiliary cutting lines to find a new possible cut face, which is in turn cut in sequence, thereby manufacturing the regular polyhedral ornament.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2004Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Inventor: Kensuke Sasaki

Patent number: 7165859Abstract: The disclosed device provides a translucent housing containing a light source (e.g., LED) and a power source (e.g., battery) in close proximity. A button at one end of the housing permits a user to activate the LED by applying pressure to the button. The pressure forces the battery into contact with a conductive element which then contacts electrical leads of the LED thereby activating the LED. When the pressure is removed, the LED turns off. The housing is removably attached to a user's fingers or thumb by means of a flexible band, strap or multiple flexible members. In this manner, the lighting device is a one-size fits all device.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2003Date of Patent: January 23, 2007Assignee: Houdini's Magic ShopInventor: Geno Munari

Patent number: 7152989Abstract: A bracelet includes at least one electronic display unit. Each display unit has a display having a plurality of display elements arranged in a sequence lying along the length of the bracelet and/or arranged in a sequence lying substantially around the perimeter of the display. The bracelet has a control circuit to control the display elements so that the characters displayed by the display elements appear to move along the sequence of display elements with time. In the alternative, the characters appear to move along a discrete face which is provided along the bracelet.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2002Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Inventor: Philip J. Patent number: 7131743Abstract: A hair decoration such as a kit comprises a series of beads connectable to one another and a set of appliqués. At least a portion of the beads contains one or more lights inside which are in electrical communication with one another to permit power to be commonly supplied to the lights from a battery. One or more beads includes a mechanism for attaching the beads to hair. A light circuit is coupled to the light-containing beads to drive the lights. Appliqués in the set of appliqués are selectively applicable to the beads by a user, have a transmissivity, and are in a path of illumination of the lights. As a result, when the lights are driven by the light circuit, the lights shine and provide illumination in the path. The illumination can be direct or backlit. A method of decorating hair is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2003Date of Patent: November 7, 2006Inventors: David Leason, Scott L. Sullivan

Patent number: 7131744Abstract: A piece of costume jewelry includes a circuit board, a battery holder, a button, and a conducting plate. The circuit board has light emitting diodes thereon and an IC member for controlling the light emitting diodes. A transparent glue covers the light emitting diodes and copper foils are located on a rear side of the circuit board. The battery holder is secured on the rear side of the circuit board while the batteries are held in the battery holder. The conducting plate is fitted to the battery holder to touch rear ends of the batteries. The conducting plate has a fitting hole and the battery holder has a locating protrusion passed through the fitting hole. The batteries and the button touch the copper foils of the circuit board respectively, and the IC member can be activated to make the light emitting diodes shine by means of pressing the button.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2005Date of Patent: November 7, 2006Inventor: Ching-Hui Lee
