  • Publication number: 20100073918
Abstract: This device comprises a manually operated, battery powered flashlight positioned between and connected to a pair of specially configured tweezers. The shapes of the ends of the tweezers are configured to permit removal of parasites such as lice and ticks. The device itself is configured and sized to be manipulated by only one hand of a user. The ends of the tweezers are shaped to comprise a vertical angle, ?=35°+/?3° , and an inward angle, ?=80° . These ends, so angled, form a cuspate, grasping mouth, which mouth further defines a lunule hole. The combination of angles further permits a user to firmly press the device against the skin of a host infected with a parasite without puncturing the skin of the host, and also enables the user to firmly position the tweezers around the parasite. The tweezers comprise a pair of generally parallel arms, each of which further defines a through hole that enable a user to more easily grasp and manipulate the tweezers.

  • Patent number: 7278769
Abstract: Coherent light, as produced by lasers, is much more intense and bright than non-coherent light. However, unlike non-coherent light sources coherent light from a laser does not radiate away from its source in a spherical fashion, but instead travels in a substantially straight path directly away from the source in a unidirectional beam. Direct exposure to coherent light is potentially dangerous to the human eye and consumer products employing laser-light sources are carefully regulated. Consequently, as a result of the radiation characteristics of coherent light, coherent light sources have not previously been employed for use in a signaling wand or any other direct-lighting apparatus. In contrast to the prior art, embodiments of the present invention provides an apparatus for emitting intense non-coherent light derived from a coherent light source (e.g. laser).

  • Patent number: 7114824
Abstract: A multi-functional tool comprising an extendable power tool handle unit with an interchangeable connect feature able to receive and power various size interchangeable, adaptable adjustable wrench head units and other adaptable tool attachments. The interchangeable wrench head units are easily connected and disconnected to the power tool handle unit. Each interchangeable adjustable wrench head unit has a self-contained transmission connectible to and powered by the adaptive power handle unit. The interchangeable wrench head units comprise of a moveable jaw, a stationary jaw, and a worm gear. The worm gear is meshed with a rack of the moveable jaw and the worm gear is driven by a motor and transmission. Activation of the motor produces linear reciprocating motion of the adjustable jaw. A power source from the handle provides the power to a control switch. The switch controls the function of the adjustable wrench heads and other powered tool attachments.

  • Patent number: 7093951
Abstract: A battery-operated electric power tool (1) includes a light unit (11) disposed on the front end of the main housing (2) and extending along the underside of the gear housing (6). The light unit (11) includes a light source (12) in a casing with the light emitting end of the light source (12) exposed through a hole at the front of the unit (11). The electric power tool (1) further includes at the front portion of the gear housing (6) a bumper (13) made of a molded rubber containing selfiuminous pigment. While the electric power tool (1) is operated with the light source (12) on, the bumper (13) absorbs and stores part of the light from the light source (12) and emits light therefrom, enabling the user to locate the bumper (13) in darkness or a dimly lit work environment even after sustained use in darkness.
