Candle Type Patents (Class 362/161)
  • Patent number: 6461014
Abstract: An ornamental device with thermal cycle of flame includes a heating section, and an exhibition section. The heating section has a base frame with an open top, the base frame providing a combustion room with an air aperture, the combustion room holding a combustible at a proper distance between the combustible and the open top. The exhibition section is an enclosed exhibiting container astride the base frame, containing a fluid medium of proper level to form an air chamber, and one or more exhibits being provided in the fluid medium. Once the combustible is lit, the flame heats up the fluid medium in the exhibiting container to a temperature of circulation. The fluid medium may generate a thermal cycle and circulate in the exhibiting container such that the exhibits may move with the circulating fluid medium and generate an effect of dynamic exhibition of tumbling upward and downward or floating and submerging alternately.

  • Patent number: 6428311
Abstract: The present invention proposes a candle device for burning a candle without a cotton wick. The candle device is directly placed on a candle without a cotton wick so that the candle can be lighted and burned successfully. The candle device comprises a heater, a lighting wick, and a float bowl. The heater is a hollow tube with a small tube of a smaller diameter shrinking from the lower section thereof. A fixing structure is formed near the bottom end of the small tube. The lighting wick is arranged in the small tube of the heater and extends to the upper opening of the tube. The float bowl is fixedly installed on the periphery of the bottom end of the small tube of the heater via the fixing structure. The present invention has the advantages of no candle drops, wax saving, complete burning, and no black smoke. Moreover, the candle device of the present invention can be used repeatedly.

  • Publication number: 20020085376
Abstract: The invention is related to a candle holder for various candle diameters, whereby the candle (4) is clamped between at east two clamping surfaces or clamping edges (1, 2, 3; 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a; 1b, 2b, 3b, 4b) which are movable in respect to each other and are in general moved towards each other by means of a spring. In case of the known candle holders the candle is extinguished when the melting zone of the burning candle approches or reaches the clamping surfaces. The characteristic of the candle holder is that there is under the clamping surfaces (1, 2, 3; 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a; 1b, 2b, 3b, 4b) a candle chamber (6) which has an opening at the upper side, which opening is partly or completely closed when the clamping surfaces move towards each other.

  • Patent number: 6397562
Abstract: Process for producing a candle surrounded by a container in which a prefabricated candle blank which does not completely fill the interior of the container is inserted and fixed in the container. An intermediate space between the candle blank and the inside wall of the container is then filled with liquid candle material and the container which has been filled in this way is allowed to cool. In order to be able to fix the inserted candle blank stationary in the container, before insertion into the container, the candle blank is heated on its bottom and its bottom which has become sticky in this way is located on the bottom of the container. The candle blank is immediately fixed in its position by releasing the heat of the heated bottom to the container bottom.

  • Patent number: 6375455
Abstract: The invention relates to an indefinitely reusable composite construction candle having a substantially permanent cylindrical outer shell which is preferably made of wax within which is positioned a cylindrical insulating sleeve which is attached to the outer shell and which preferably provides thermal insulation between the outer shell and heat from the candle flame. A removable insert is placed within both the sleeve and outer shell which contains a wick and wax, or other combustible material, which is consumed during the candle burning operation. When the combustible material in the insert is depleted, the insert is replaced with another similar insert enabling the rest of the composite construction candle to remain unaltered. The invention provides for the ability to adjust both the height of the removable insert and the relative position of the insert with respect to the outer shell. The candle presents to the casual viewer the impression of a traditional candle of monolithic construction.

  • Patent number: 6371756
Abstract: A wax candle (10) positioned below a wax reservoir (30), which is held in position above candle (10) by a wax reservoir support (20). While burning, the heat emitted from the flame of candle (10) causes the wax contained in reservoir (30) to slowly and continuous melt. This melted wax drips down from reservoir (30) into candle (10) and replenishes the wax used for combustion on the wick of candle (10). The rate of this replenishment and the flame size of candle (10) are self regulating, and in direct relationship with each other during cycle outlined below: An increase in flame size causes a subsequent increase in replenishment. An increase in replenishment causes a subsequent decrease in flame size. A decrease in flame size causes a subsequent decrease in replenishment. A decrease in replenishment causes a subsequent increase in flame size. And the cycle begins again.

  • Patent number: 5697694
Abstract: A primary outer shell includes, in its most preferred embodiment, a base and a wall which includes at least one embedded foreign object and defines openings into an inner cavity containing a burnable candle member which causes the outer shell to glow and cast shadows without melting. The outer shell is constructed according to a unique molding method which includes at least partially immersing a swollen distensible mold, such as a water-filled balloon, into a reservoir of molding material, such as wax, to allow the molding material to form a molded shell around the distensible mold. After the distensible mold with the attached molded shell is removed from the reservoir of molding material, it is placed upon a flat surface to form a flat bottom into the molded shell.

  • Patent number: 5651669
Abstract: A luminaria kit which includes a luminaria bag, ballast, a candle, and a container having an interior volume for holding the ballast to stabilize the container. The container has a flat bottom for positioning the bag, with the container inside, on a surface. The container has a top having at least a portion thereof in a plane generally parallel to the surface on which the container is placed. A port is located on the container for sealingly adding ballast thereto. The candle is mounted to the container by inserting it into a candle mount that is located on the portion of the top. The mount includes a plurality of concentric circular rings extending into the interior of the container to form a plurality of ring like steps having a progressively smaller diameters as the steps extend further therein. In a preferred embodiment, the candle mount includes at least three ring like steps, each having the same general depth into the container.
