Abstract: A device for the generation of two-dimensional and three-dimensional virtual color patterns by the single or multidirectional rotation of a movable body containing light emitters of differing colors. The light emitters may be intermittently or continuously flashed by a wind-powered alternating current generator that also serves as a bearing for rotation. In the preferred embodiments, wind reactive blades take the form of various horizontal or vertical shaft windmills with slender or broad blades.

  • Patent number: 6893141
Abstract: A light generating flashlight system device utilizes a large centrally located magnet which is mounted to slide past a magnet pickup or current induction wire which may be preferably mounted at a center point of travel in a tubular housing having a tubular chamber through which the magnet travels. A pair of elastomeric dampers are located each at the end of a support system sleeve which is sized to fit within a main housing to stabilize all internal support within a sealed unit. The result is a device which both facilitates the manual movement of the flashlight body so that the magnet slides past the center magnet pickup or current induction wire, and also conserves the residual momentum of the magnet once it has traveled past the magnet pickup or current induction wire by providing a bumper and spring to conserve some of the mechanical energy going in the other direction. Ninety second of manual activation enables about five minutes of illumination.

Abstract: A wind power driving auxiliary lamp comprises a seat, a generator, a transparent cover and a circuit device. The seat has two supporting frames. The generator has a blade set and a small power generator firmly secured to a blade groove of the blade set. The blade set and the small power generator are positioned between the two supporting frames. The blade set and the small power generator rotate synchronously. A circuit device includes a circuit board in the transparent cover and a light emitting body set on the circuit board. In moving, air will push the blade set so that the small power generator and the blade set rotate synchronously, the small power generator will rotate with the central pivotal shaft so as to generate direct current power to be supplied to the light emitting body set.

Abstract: A light-generating bicycle pedal includes an axle, a pedal body mounted on the axle, and a light-generating unit including a magnet wheel, a coil device and a lamp unit. The pedal body is formed with a board receiving cavity to receive a circuit board of the lamp unit. The coil device includes a set of anchoring lugs to be anchored in a set of anchoring holes in the circuit board. Rotation of the axle relative to the pedal body results in rotation of the magnet wheel relative to the coil device, thereby inducing electrical currents in the coil device that are provided to the lamp unit via the anchoring lugs so as to enable the lamp unit to generate a light output.

  • Patent number: 6789925
Abstract: A new and improved apparatus which lights up portions of a pair of bicycle tires on a bicycle when the bicycle is in motion is disclosed. The present invention would comprise a generator and two aluminum disks that light up light emitting diodes (LED's) on both tires of a bicycle while the bicycle is being ridden by a user. The aluminum disks would be located in the center of each bicycle tire, while the LED's would be located on two spokes on each tire. On each tire, the spokes that the LED's would be located would be opposite one another, with the spokes being wide enough the entire length of each spoke to accommodate the placement of a plurality of LED's. Each spoke that has LED's attached would have LED's attached to both sides of that particular spoke. The present invention would be configured such that the forward motion of the bicycle would energize the generator, which in turn, would provide energy to the aluminum discs and the LED's.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a voltage reducing circuit for use with an LED flashlight. The LED flashlight according to the invention comprises a battery, a solid state light source having an on voltage less than the voltage of the battery, and a voltage reducing circuit in electrical communication with the battery and the solid state light source. The voltage reducing circuit is operative to reduce the voltage from the battery to a level that is slightly above the on-voltage threshold of the solid state light source. In this manner, power expended from the battery by the solid state light source is minimized such that the need for battery replacement is prolonged.
