Abstract: A portable electronic device comprises a housing, a display protecting lens, a display and a light guiding element. The housing has an opening and a trough defined therethrough. The display protecting lens is mounted in the opening of the housing. The display is mounted with the first light guiding element in the housing. The light guiding element is accommodated in the trough. The portable electronic device further includes a light guiding member located between the display protecting lens and the display, a portion of the light emitted by the display is guided by the light guiding member and then transmitted to the light guiding element.

Abstract: A lens-attached light-emitting element having an improved optical availability efficiency includes a composite lens provided on an approximately U-shaped light-emitting area of the light emitting element array. Four spherical lenses are arranged in such a manner that each is centered in the neighborhood the an end of a respective one of three segments of a U-shaped polygonal line corresponding to positions where light emitted by the U-shaped light-emitting area is a maximum Three cylindrical lens are arranged between two of the spherical lens, respectively, each cylindrical lens having an axis parallel with each segment. These four spherical lenses and three cylindrical lenses together constitute the composite lens. The light-emitting element further comprises an antireflection film covering the light-emitting area, and the composite lens is formed on the surface of the antireflection film.

Abstract: A candle shade includes a sleeve adapted to receive a top end of a candle and a shade element coupled to the sleeve and surrounding the candle adjacent the top end. The sleeve has at least one spacing element on its interior surface to space the sleeve from the candle and reduce contact area therebetween. A stop is also provided on the sleeve to inhibit the sleeve from travelling down the candle beyond the top end.

Abstract: A functional, commemorative, handcrafted candle lit lantern made in many colors and enlosed in glass panels, the front panel being elevatable, a dripless candle seated on a pedestal, wherein the candle can be raised through a roof of the lantern to be snuffed out or lit, a brass plate on the front side of the base of the lantern having an inscription descriptive of the lantern thereon, the front panel having an etching depicting a pictorial scene that corresponds with the inscription and a laminated card having an anecdote commensurate with the inscription associated therewith.

Abstract: A table lamp that utilizes a fuel cell having a hollow glass or plastic envelope that includes an elongated body section joined to an expanded base by a pinched neck, and a flame shield mounted upon the top of the body section. The fuel cell has an elongated fuel container that rests upon the pinched neck of the envelope and a burner that is positioned within the flame shield. The flame shield has a top opening that permits the fuel cell to be inserted or removed from the envelope therethrough. A shade may be removably mounted upon the flame shield and a decorative insert slidably positioned between the fuel cell and the body of the envelope.

Abstract: A memorial candle fixture includes a cast frame member comprising two substantially identical mating frame halves, preferably cast from bronze. Each frame half has a top portion and a base portion interconnected by two pairs of ribs which are positioned at a vertical parting plane extending along the faces of the mating frame halves. An open region is defined between the top and base portions and ribs of the frame halves for placement of a candle and an enclosing decorative candle cover therein. The frame halves carry interlocking members on the top and base portions for detachably securing the frame halves together whereby the candle and its cover are securely confined within the open region. The base carries peripheral lugs on a flared pedestal thereof for locking engagement with a memorial plate installed at the grave site.

When the transparent portion is positioned adjacent the light source of the lantern, the lantern provides bright light, and when the frosted portion is positioned adjacent the light source, the lantern provides subdued light.
