  • Patent number: 9964278
Abstract: A reflecting surface of a reflector has a structure where a plurality of reflecting elements are arranged in rows in an up-and-down direction, and the reflecting elements are arranged as a plurality of sets in a left-and-right direction. The surface of each reflecting element is composed of a curved surface having a horizontal section curvature larger than a vertical section curvature. Thus, a horizontally long light distribution pattern may be easily formed by light reflecting from each reflecting element. Each reflecting element is connected to each of four reflecting elements which are adjacent thereto in the left-and-right direction and are shifted therefrom in the up-and-down direction, through a boundary line extending from a vertical plane in an inclined direction in the left-and-right direction. • Patent number: 7891824
Abstract: A reflector for the lighting device and an illumination system of the projection apparatus are provided. The reflector comprises a first reflecting structure and a second reflecting structure disposed on the portion of the first reflecting structure. The reflecting surfaces of the first and second reflecting structures are formed with a distance therebetween. After the first portion of the light is reflected from the first reflecting surface and the second portion of the light is reflected from the second reflecting surface, the second portion of the light is adapted to remove the centrally dimmed area at the opening of the lighting device. Thus, the luminance performance can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7762694
Abstract: In a lighting device for a vehicle including a reflector in which an aluminum deposited layer is formed on a surface of a resin member, the resin member is molded through a resin obtained by adding, to a crystalline resin, a filler having a size smaller than a wavelength of a visible light, and a smooth surface and a fine concavo-convex surface are mixed into a surface of the reflector (the resin member) which is molded. The aluminum deposited layer is directly deposited on the surface of the resin, and the smooth surface is formed as a mirror finished surface and the fine concavo-convex surface is formed as a semiglossy surface. As compared with a case in which the reflector is constituted by only the simple mirror finished surface, the semiglossy surface designed to have a proper area is present so that a sense of gloss can be suppressed as a whole and a sense of high quality can be given.

  • Patent number: 7740381
Abstract: An apparatus and method for a high intensity lighting fixture. In one aspect, instead of a spun aluminum bowl-shaped reflector, a die cast metal reflector frame, somewhat simulating a bowl shape, includes an inner surface with mounting structure. A high reflectance sheet or plurality of high reflectance inserts are placed onto the mounting structure to create a reflecting surface. This allows high customability of the reflecting surface and minimizes light loss.

  • Patent number: 7736031
Abstract: The present invention is an improved lightbulb housing installed inside of a canister transversely affixed to a ceiling plate of a ceiling fixture, wherein the lightbulb used is a plug-in fluorescent lightbulb and the visual effect is modified to cause the visual effect to simulate a reflector lightbulb. The lightbulb housing comprises a hollow reflector, a frosted and translucent lens, and a top hollow cylindrical ring cover which receives a translucent lens. The hollow cylindrical ring cover is attached to the reflector and incorporates means by which it is attached to the interior of the canister. The frosted and translucent lens is sandwiched between a transverse interior shelf on the ring cover and the top of the reflector. A plug-in fluorescent lightbulb is installed into an electric plug within the canister of the ceiling fixture, however, because of the translucent and frosted lens, the plug-in fluorescent lightbulb is concealed and lighting effect simulates a reflector lightbulb.

Abstract: A reflector lamp having a concave reflector with a base at one end and a lens at an opposite end. A discharge lamp having a fill of or forming salts maintained by heat in a vapor phase is located near the base end of the reflector. When the reflector lamp is oriented in a near-horizontal position, the fill coming into contact with a colder, lower side of the discharge lamp partially condenses, coloring light passing through the condensate. At least two interior reflector surface areas, which have contours defined by rotating generatrices with configurations of conic section lines, reflect the colored light to distribute it evenly over a surface being illuminated and avoid creating a hot spot.
