Patent number: 5184890Abstract: A lamp assembly, particularly used for a Christmas lamp string, having mainly a shade or shield at a first end, a hood with cover at a second end and an inter-connector joining in between the shield and the hood and serves to retain a lamp bulb with or without a socket. The socket is provided with self-contained conductor wires and fastening tab(s), single sided or double sided to be snap-locked by flap(s) disposed correspondingly on the inter-connector. When the inter-connector takes a bulb without socket, the bulb is inserted directly into the inter-connector where terminals of a pair of conductor wires are spacedly disposed to be electrically contacted with the blub base tightly inserted.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 1991Date of Patent: February 9, 1993Inventors: Jen H. Patent number: 4893218Abstract: A reflector, made from a thermosetting plastic, has three tightening faces on its crown neck that act as a catch, into which three protrusions, such as pawls, dig in a thread-like manner with teeth of the ring. As a result, the ring secures an incandescent bulb in the reflector. By means of this unilaterally acting friction catch, lateral slides, in particular, become unnecessary on an injection holder of the reflector, which is a considerable advantage in the processing of thermosetting plastics.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1988Date of Patent: January 9, 1990Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Gerhard Dilk, Rolf Klaiber, Kurt Kreschel, Wolfgang Krieg, Heinz Ruckwied, Gerhard Ulrich

Patent number: 4758936Abstract: A lamp shade assembly is disclosed that is aesthetically pleasing, easy to assemble and one which may be utilized in a variety of orientations to provide either direct or indirect lighting. The assembly has a shade body member having a generally conical configuration which may be attached to a lamp socket. A lamp shade, which may be made of a flexible, expandible material is initially formed in a cylindrical configuration wherein the diameter is less than the maximum diameter of the conical body member, and one end of the shade is placed into the body member. A retaining member is inserted into the interior of the lamp shade so as to urge a portion of the outer surface of the lamp shade material into contact with an inner surface of the body member, thereby forming the lamp shade into a generally conical configuration. A locking collar, threadingly engaged with a lamp socket, holds the retaining member in place against the inner surface of the lamp shade.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1986Date of Patent: July 19, 1988Assignee: Lusterlon Inc.Inventor: Richard Maxwell
