Abstract: The described technology provides an electric heating apparatus with multiple heating lamps that can increase the heat emitted by a single heating apparatus, thereby allowing a minimal number of heating apparatus installations in the space where heating is needed, and can prevent fires by turning the power off immediately in the event of the heating apparatus falling off. According to the described technology, multiple heating lamps may be positioned within the reflector dish, and the heating lamps may have particular inclinations to allow a broader range of irradiation and increase efficiency in terms of installing, maintaining, and operating the electric heating apparatus; the heat of the reflector dish and the heating lamps themselves may be discharged by way of conduction at the upper portion of the reflector dish.

Abstract: The present invention solves the problem of secure engagement of a thin gauge light handle cover to a light handle. This is possible by way of a simple addition to existing light handle covers. Vacuum structures are a critical improvement of the present invention over the prior art. The prior art has uniformly tried to use a seal between the shield rim and the light handle cover behind which a vacuum would be attempted to be formed. Where the post and shield covering sections have sufficient structural strength, such a seal and vacuum can be obtained. With thin gauge polymers, it is simply not practical.

Access to these handles is possible directly in a flight case because there is sufficient space for getting access to the handles above the yoke. In terms of small light fixtures, an individual can easily carry the light fixture by these handles and safely lift the light fixture from a flight case. In the case of very large light fixtures, two individuals can lift the fixture from both sides of a flight case and can carry the light fixture by the handles. By placing the handles as high as possible in relation to the light fixture, the light fixture can be carried in a very stable manner.

Abstract: A surgical light system (10) includes a lighthead (44) coupled to a suspension arm (41?) adapted for mounting to a surface (14) of a surgical room. A bulb (130) is disposed in the lighthead. A processor (120) in the lighthead is operatively coupled with the bulb for controlling an intensity of light of the bulb and is adapted to generate a lighthead status signal representative of a first status of the lighthead. A control apparatus (32, 34) is in operative communication with the processor (120) in the lighthead. The control apparatus receives the lighthead status signal and selects a set of control algorithms from among a group of algorithms based on the lighthead status signal for controlling the lighthead.
