Abstract: A luminaire having a housing with a column extending therefrom and a bracket secured to the column, the bracket having a body and two wings extending from opposing sides of the body, at least a portion of each wing extending in a direction at least partially away from the column. The mounting bracket allows installation of the luminaire to a structure, such as a ceiling or canopy, by inserting the luminaire column and bracket into an aperture in the structure from the underside of the structure. The aperture edge forces the wings to flex inward as the column advances through the aperture until the wings pass the aperture edge and spring outward to hold the luminaire to the structure. The mounting bracket thus facilitates quick attachment of the luminaire to the structure and allows attachment of additional mounting hardware to further secure the luminaire to the structure.

A second similar lamp is provided so as to be separated at its ends from the corresponding first and second ends of the first lamp by a first gap distance (d1) and to extend substantially, but not fully parallel to the first lamp. An intermediated gap fixing part is provided for fixing at an intermediate position along the lengths of the first and second lamps a second separation gap distance (d2) that is smaller than the first gap distance.

Abstract: A luminaire and mounting bracket combination is disclosed which allows the luminaire to be readily installed and retained by the bracket while the installer permanently affixes the luminaire directly to the bracket. Single installer capability is therefore allowed due to the construction of the support bracket and luminaire combination described. The bracket incorporates the use of a plurality of support arms and possibly a lower support bracket which correspondingly fit into apertures formed in the luminaire support frame formed on the mounting face of the luminaire. The design allows the luminaire to be vertically lowered on the support bracket and retained thereby while the installer fastens the luminaire directly to the bracket without need for additional support mechanism or aid.

Abstract: A hanger bar for supporting a recessed light fixture is attachable to ceiling joists or a T-bar grid of a drop down ceiling. First and second bars of the hanger bar slide and telescope. First and second spring clips are detachably coupled to the brackets at the ends of the first and second bars, respectively. Each of the first and second clips has a pair of downwardly extending arms bent inwardly toward one another, a first leg extending from a first arm, a second leg extending from a second arm, and an outwardly-extending foot on the second leg. The spring clips snap on to the T-bar grid. Each bracket includes a nail that is angled away from the hanger bar and downward so that the nail head is below the level of the hanger bar. The angled nails enable easy hammer strikes to attach the hanger bar to ceiling joists without accidental hammer blows to the hanger bar. The bracket may be discrete from the hanger bar but attached via tox clinching or a tab pass-through attachment.
