The display module comprises a transparent element having the advertisement pattern and/or letters thereon, and a reflection layer positioned on a back surface of the transparent element. The light from the illumination modules and/or an external source such as, sunlight, enters the transparent element from the sides and get reflected by the reflection layer to clearly display the advertisement pattern and/or letters. Thus the advertisement board of the present invention not only has a capability to perform excellent display functions but also has the capability to reduce the power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6720737
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) illumination structure has a button-sized battery, a circuit board, an LED chip and a contact switch. A positive electrode of the LED chip electrically connects to a positive electrode of the button-sized battery, and a negative electrode of the LED chip electrically connects to the circuit board via a conductive wire. A transparent molding material encapsulates the LED chip and the conductive wire. One terminal of the contact switch electrically connects to the circuit board while the other terminal connects to a negative electrode of the button-sized battery. Direct attachment of the positive electrode of the LED chip to the positive electrode of the button-sized battery provides electrical connection and heat dissipation from the LED chip through the button-sized battery to stabilize the high brightness characteristic. The LED illumination structure is thereby constructed with a reduced size.

The article of clothing includes a plurality of LEDs forming nomenclature that provides identifying information, such as a word or symbol. A strobing unit is connected to the display, such as through a flexible circuit board. The strobing unit provides one or more power signals that cause the LED display to generate strobed light, so that emergency workers can be readily identified by an observer even in darkness, rain, smoke, fog, or other conditions where visibility is limited.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for integrating an illuminated sign system with a dasher board in a hockey rink. The illuminated sign system includes an outer frame with an impact resistant transparent sheet secured to a front surface of the outer frame. The sign system includes a display panel member having a white front surface and a plurality of apertures therein. The display panel member includes a circuit board assembly having a plurality of LED trios positioned proximate the rear surface of the display panel member so that LED trios register and protrude through a corresponding aperture in the display panel member. The illuminated sign system includes a power supply and a controller for controlling the power supplied to specific LEDs in each of the LED trios. In addition, the controller controls the intensity emitted by the LEDs to thereby manipulate the color contrast with the white front surface of the display panel member.

Abstract: An electrical light device suitable for an illuminated sign or for a lighting fixture comprising a relatively thin plate made of a unitary sheet of transparent or translucent material and having a peripheral edge and flat front and rear surfaces. A plurality of spaced-apart, light emitting diodes (LEDs) are mounted along the peripheral edge and are arranged to transmit light into the plate. A light reflecting, opaque layer covers the rear surface of the plate and a light reflecting, opaque strip is affixed to the peripheral edge and extends along this edge. The opaque strip is arranged to reflect light that has passed through the plate back into the plate. A front sheet or layer, that is at least partially opaque or translucent, extends over the front surface of the plate and provides a lighting effect. Preferably the front sheet is a plastic film attached by repositionable or pressure sensitive adhesive.
