Abstract: A driving device for a vortex mixing apparatus comprises holders for holding a mixing unit of a type having at each opposite end a pumping diaphragm for imposing a pulsatile flow on a liquid passing through a primary channel in the unit. Two pistons are each arranged to cooperate with a respective one of the diaphragms and to reciprocate between a retracted position clear of the unit and an extended position in which it extends into a housing of the unit and compresses the respective diaphragm. Driving mechanisms are normally arranged to reciprocate the pistons in phase at the same frequency such that when one piston is moving from its retracted position to its extended position the other is moving from its extended position to its retracted position and vice versa. Control mechanisms are arranged, upon stopping of the driving mechanisms, to cause both pistons to adopt retracted positions so that the unit may be inserted into, and removed from the holders without interference from the pistons.

Abstract: Each of the modules comprises a base or case with cells been mounted thereon. Each of the cells comprises two vertical panels connected by a plate containing a mechanism for driving coupling members which are complementary to coupling members comprised by the can stirrers. One of the cells at least is provided with a motor reducing unit simultaneously connected to horizontal and vertical movement transmitting units provided for connecting together the motor reducing unit and the various coupling members.
Abstract: An apparatus for storing and stirring viscous liquids, particularly paints, contained in cans comprises a rotatable stand provided with circumferentially arranged tiltable trays for housing individual cans. A coupling member is rotatably mounted above each tray, and can be connected with a stirrer rotatably supported in the lid of the can housed in the respective tray.
Abstract: A support casing mounts a laterally extending guide track system for positioning an open top receptacle in mixing position where it receives an overhanging bladed rotor carried by a gear box connected to a drive motor. The receptacle is longitudinally split with a guide flange around its open upper end and when mounted on the track system its lower end is tightly pocketed in a flanged fitting, the flanges of the receptacle and fitting sliding into upper and lower tracks of the guide track system. After mixing the receptacle may be removed from the track system and a plunger inserted for controlled dispensing of the mixed material through an opening in the receptacle bottom.
