Patent number: 7281843Abstract: A vertical agricultural mixer employs a pair of vertical mixing augers in combination with a pair of asymmetrical, half pyramid-shaped transfer protrusions adjacently disposed along each opposed sidewall between the augers in a mixing tub. The transfer protrusions are differently shaped with tips which are vertically spaced from each other along a vertical line on each sidewall. The transfer protrusions create a pressure gradient to allow material mixed in the tub to transfer to an adjacent mixing auger more efficiently so that mixing action is optimized and dead mixing spots are prevented.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2005Date of Patent: October 16, 2007Assignee: Patz Sales, Inc.Inventors: David C. Patent number: 7258794Abstract: The present invention provides a production method with which a porous carrier can be allowed to evenly carry a polysaccharide derivative. That is, the present invention provides a method of producing an enantiomeric isomer-separating filler, including bringing a porous carrier and a solution of a polysaccharide derivative into contact with each other through a stirring operation in a stirring device, to allow the porous carrier to carry an optically active polymer compound, in which: a two-axis vertical stirring device is used as the stirring device; and the porous carrier is allowed to carry the polysaccharide derivative in a carrying amount of 23 mass % or more.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2003Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Daicel Chemical Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Hirokazu Ikeda, Atsushi Onishi, Koichi Murazumi

Patent number: 6991729Abstract: The objectives of this invention are to provide a filler for separating optical isomers, capable of efficiently carrying out optical resolution of optical isomer mixtures, a process for producing the filler, and a method for using the filler. The present invention provides a process for producing a filler for separating optical isomers which process comprises stirring a carrier and a solution including an optically active polymer compound with a double spindle vertical mixer. The present invention further provides a filler produced by the process and a method for using the filler in liquid chromatographic separation methods and simulated moving bed chromatographic separation methods.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2002Date of Patent: January 31, 2006Assignee: Daicel Chemical Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Hirokazu Ikeda, Atsushi Onishi, Koichi Murazumi

Patent number: 6983902Abstract: A truck for shredding and mixing products for zootechnical use, of the type that comprises, on a chassis (11) with wheels (12) that is self-propelled or towed, a container (13) that is substantially shaped like an inverted frustum, is open in an upper region and contains shredding and mixing means (14) which comprise at least two adjacent rotating main screw feeders (15, 16), each having an external profile (17) that lies on a substantially conical imaginary surface and at which shredding cutters are mounted. Contrast cutters (20) substantially shaped like circular sectors are hinged to the internal wall of the container (13) by means of their respective vertices in a vertical arrangement in substantially radial positions and can be inserted and removed through appropriately provided slots. Auxiliary screw feeders (18, 19), suitable to avoid the formation of stagnation regions, are arranged between the main screw feeders (15, 16), in the regions adjacent to the walls of the container (13).Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2002Date of Patent: January 10, 2006Inventor: Tiziano Faccia

Patent number: 6962674Abstract: A dissolution test apparatus comprises a spindle head assembly interconnected between first and second lateral support members. The lateral support members are translatable along a first axis, and the spindle head assembly is translatable along a second axis, such that the spindle head assembly is movable from a front, operative position at which test procedures are effected, to a rear position at which access to the dissolution test apparatus is enhanced. The spindle head assembly includes a dosage delivery mechanism including an actuatable dosage unit-retaining member. A front portion of the dissolution test apparatus has a tapered width to accommodate a triangular or trapezoidal array of test vessels, resulting in high visibility of the vessels.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2001Date of Patent: November 8, 2005Assignee: Varian, Inc.Inventors: Stephen D.
