  • Patent number: 4407019
Abstract: An electronic wristwatch wherein a timing rate adjustment signal, representative of the amount of timing rate adjustment being effected and/or needed to be effected, is depicted. The electronic wristwatch includes a divider circuit for receiving a high frequency time standard signal from a quartz crystal oscillator circuit and for producing a low frequency timekeeping signal in response thereto. An adjustment circuit is coupled to the divider circuit for adjusting the frequency of the timekeeping signal by a predetermined amount. A converter circuit is adapted to be selectively coupled to the divider circuit to receive the adjusted low frequency timekeeping signal and, in response thereto, to produce a timing rate adjustment signal representative of the amount of adjustment applied in the low frequency timekeeping signal, and to produce a signal representative of the unadjusted oscillator frequency.

  • Patent number: 4250574
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic timepiece in which an input terminal of the integrated circuit is used as an output terminal. During the manufacturing of the timepiece it is important to check the running of the frequency of the oscillator and the operation of at least part of the frequency divider chain. However, in a timepiece, the places available for obtaining measurements could be very limited, and the timepiece does not generally have an output terminal adapted to connect the signal to be measured to an external counter. The purpose of the invention is to utilize an already existing input terminal as an output terminal for permitting a precise and rapid checking of the frequency of the oscillator by measuring, on that terminal, a signal of intermediate frequency delivered by the frequency divider chain.

  • Patent number: 4209975
Abstract: Time adjusting means for electronic timepiece which detects change in the generation condition of pulses generated in response to a manual operation speed and generates a predetermined number of pulses in accordance with the detection output as the time-adjusting pulses. The time adjusting means enables a rapid time adjustment of an electronic timepiece at a high speed. When the manual operation speed exceeds a predetermined speed, the time adjusting means stops the time-adjusting pulse so as to prevent erroneous operation.

  • Patent number: 4204398
Abstract: A timepiece is set by transmission of a time related signal which is received by the timepiece and converted into digital form. The circuit developing signals representing the time displayed by the timepiece is stepped more rapidly than normal and simultaneously compared with the time related signal until they compare at which time the rapid stepping of the timepiece is abruptly terminated and normal stepping of the timepiece is resumed. The carrier may be any supersonic frequency. Setting of the timepiece may be enabled only after operating a time check switch. The above technique may be employed to produce an alarm at a requested time to serve as a memory or wake-up aid, for example.
