  • Publication number: 20120002513
Abstract: The invention relates to a watch case including a middle (2, 24, 34), one opening of which is closed by a bezel (8, 18, 28) and/or a crystal (1, 11, 21), or by a back (40). At least one of the elements for closing the opening is connected to the middle by a resilient metal member (3, 23, 33) having a recessed cross-section defined by the profile of a non-rectilinear wall having a constant thickness and the ends (3a, 3b) of which are connected to the periphery of said closing element (1, 11, 21, 18) of said middle (2, 24, 34), respectively. The profile of said non-rectilinear wall defines at least one annular fold having an orientation parallel to the plane of said opening, said fold being formed by a curvature, the arc of which defines an angle of between >90° and 180°, so as to impart to said closing member (1, 11, 21, 18) a freedom of movement relative to the plane of the opening.

  • Patent number: 7901129
Abstract: This watch case comprises a protective casing surrounded by a middle (5) and a bezel (9). The protective casing includes a glass (3), a side wall (2) and a bottom (1). A planar peripheral surface extending along the entire edge of the inner face of the glass is in contact with a similar bearing surface on the side wall (2), at least part of which forms the width of the cross section of a pressure resistant structure having parallel lateral faces (SR) perpendicular to the bearing surface, and which extends without a gap as far as the bottom (1) of the casing. The components of the casing are secured and sealed with at least one annular seal (4) surrounding the lateral face of the glass (3) and the outer lateral face of the side wall (2) of the casing, and this seal is clamped.

  • Patent number: 7404668
Abstract: To provide a timepiece in which it is possible to promote an edge thinning of an edge member without impairing an exchangeability of a gasket between the edge member to which a glass has been fixed and a case band, and a selectivity of a fixation means of the glass to the edge member. In a case band of an armor case in which a timepiece movement with a dial has been built in, there is provided an inner periphery convex part forming a fit hole while protruding to a case band inside. In an annular edge member which is overlapped to a front side of the case band and to which a glass has been fixed, there are provided a tubular fit part fitted to a fit hole, and a dial cover site covering a peripheral part surface of the dial. An annular seal gasket made of an elastic material is nipped, in an outside than the fit hole, between the edge member and the case band.

  • Patent number: 6863436
Abstract: The watch according to the invention includes a movement (2) on which a dial (4) is assembled and which is mounted in a casing ring (12) itself mounted in a case (14) including a crystal (16) secured to a bezel (20), a middle part (24) and a back cover (22). According to the invention, the case (4) includes an inner tubular part (38) at least partially surrounding the casing ring (12) and itself surrounded by the middle part (24) and snap fitting assembling means (64, 76) for connecting the back cover (22) and the bezel (20) via the inner tubular part (38). Moreover, this tubular part is designed to allow the casing ring (12) and the middle part (24) to be angularly positioned with respect to each other. In order to do this, it can have an axial slot (98) open towards the back cover (22), which an external projecting portion (94) of the casing ring and an internal projecting portion (96) of the middle part penetrate.

  • Patent number: 6575619
Abstract: The method for assembling and fixing a casing ring (3) in a watch case (6) uses a ring made of plastically deformable material fitted with means (60, 70) forming a single piece with the ring and capable of positioning it with respect to the case. The ring is introduced into the case, which causes said positioning means to be deformed plastically. The introduction is interrupted when the ring occupies a determined position with respect to the case.

  • Patent number: 4740935
Abstract: The piece of jewelry protected by a hard metal shielding may consist of a metallic watchband composed of elements jointed to each other. In this case each one of said elements comprises a body member 61 of a material suitable for machining, such as stainless steel, and a plate 64 of sintered hard metal which is secured to body member 61 by means of plugs 65 welded against the back side of plate 64 and riveted to body member 61. The upper surface of the watchband elements is thus protected against injuries which contacts with foreign bodies could produce. Since that face of the watchband elements is practically the only one which is visible, when the watch is carried, the watchband will keep its original appearance during all the time it will be carried.
