Having Pointer Controlled By Timepiece Patents (Class 368/44)
  • Patent number: 4726687
Abstract: A timepiece includes a conventional circular analog display surrounded by one or more data entry dials. Data selection means such as a pointer or a window are utilized to select one of a plurality of uncoded characters on the data entry dial thereby enabling an associated coded character formed on the periphery of a rotatable wheel to be read. A stem is coupled to drive the wheel and also functions to enable the reading head to generate a data entry input signal. The signal from the reading head is an input to one or more memories associated with an alphanumeric display for visually indicating the entered information, and/or stored information and/or calculated information.
