Having Stationary Storage Medium Patents (Class 369/177)
  • Patent number: 10872621
Abstract: A phonograph player includes a body with a motor configured to drive a drive wheel and also having a head-shell. The head-shell rotates relative to the body and holds a needle cartridge. The head-shell is also configured to activate a sensor governing motor speed. The sensor is calibrated for rotation of the head-shell to alter motor speed, and such that rotating the head-shell results in the body portion maintaining a constant RPM relative to the phonograph. The sensor may be a light sensor, and the apparatus may include a head-shell clip for holding the head-shell. Preferably, the head-shell holds the needle cartridge in a trailing configuration, and a housing at least partially cover the body.

  • Patent number: 6781942
Abstract: A lower inertial compact disk driving device is disclosed. The disk and laser head are static and optical unit device are used as a medium of the laser optical path. Furthermore, the focusing is realized. An optical unit device is used as a medium of the laser beam and a displacing device is used to change the position of the optical unit device. The focusing device has two rigid sliding tracks, one focus coil, and two permanent magnets. The rigid sliding tracks are used as a linkage. The focusing error from the laser beam passing through the optical unit device is converted into a focusing driving voltage which is applied to the focus coil so that a magnetic field is generated. This field is interacted with permanent magnets so that the focus coil moves up and down. Thereby, the rigid sliding tracks move up and down to drive the optical unit device to move.

Abstract: A lower inertial compact disc drive includes a rotary needle, a rotary driving device and a straight movement device. The rotary needle is installed below a read and written surface of the disc, and a center of the rotary needle is installed with a fixed reflector. The selected positions at two sides thereof are installed with a movable reflector and a balance block; and a straight movement device for controlling the reflector and the balance block to move oppositely along a straight path on the rotary needle so as to control the alternation of the reading optic path. The rotary driving device has a small inertia, and thus a small power motor may serve the object. Similarly, the movable reflector, convex lens, and balance block are light and a small power servomotor can be used. Consequently, the power is saved greatly.

  • Patent number: 5172282
Abstract: The present invention proposes a memory device comprising a fixed disc on the surface of which data may be stored, and rotating transducers or heads which may be positioned to access any location on the disc. The rotating heads are mounted on transducer arms which are designed in such a manner that the transducer seeks outward as it is rotated. That is, similar to a flywheel governor in a steam engine, centrifugal force would impart a radial force on the arm which is movable in a low friction system along with the transducer, the radial force causing the transducer to move outward together with the radial arm with increasing rotational speed of the spindle motor.

  • Patent number: 4574370
Abstract: A stopper projects radially outward from the periphery of a rotary turn table and a plurality of selection poles are disposed such that any one of the selection poles, when depressed, projects into the locus of rotation of the stopper. A spring fabricated to have energizing pieces, the same in number as the number of selection poles, is positioned within a casing so that two mating parts can engage with each other. Each energizing piece is made electrically conductive and the spring also urges each selection pole toward the outside of the casing. A metal guide plate holds the selection poles 16 which are disposed along the periphery of the turn table within the casing and further guides the selected selection pole into the locus of rotation of the stopper. • Patent number: 4498160
Abstract: A simplified record player having a fixed record member and a rotatable turn table carrying a sound reproducing stylus which rotates together with the turn table. Until the record is positioned on the record holding portion of the player, the reproducing stylus is disposed in a recessed portion or an opening so as to be shielded from the outside. When the record is positioned and fixed to the record holding portion, a projecting rod attached to the center of the record pushes a pusher placed about the center pin of the player such that the pusher advances along the center pin. By a wedge action given by an inclined face of the head of the pusher, a tone arm carrying the reproduction stylus is pushed outward so that the reproduction stylus can be positioned to confront the recorded face of the record. By virtue of this construction, the design defect of injuries to an operator's body by an exposed stylus can be entirely prevented.
