Patent number: 9732490Abstract: A snow removal brush includes a brush rotary shaft that is disposed on each of opposite lateral surfaces of a vehicle body traveling along a track and in a vehicle width direction of the vehicle body and is supported by the vehicle body to be rotatable about an axis extending in a direction intersecting a track surface of the track, and a brush part that protrudes from an outer circumferential surface of the brush rotary shaft to a radial outer side. The brush part is formed to come into contact with trolley wires provided for the track and supplying electricity to the vehicle body.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2015Date of Patent: August 15, 2017Assignee: MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventors: Kousuke Katahira, So Tamura

Patent number: 8070170Abstract: A machine (A) includes a frame (16) and a platform (58) on which a boom assembly (B) is mounted. Two arms (332) of a U-shaped pivotal member (330) are pivotably mounted to the frame (16) about a first pivot axis (380) perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the frame (16). A front end (302) of a mounting plate (310) is pivotably connected to an intermediate section (336) of the pivotal member (330) about a second pivot axis (382) perpendicular to and spaced from the first pivot axis (380). Two rams (400) are mounted on opposite sides of a rear end (304) of the mounting plate (310). Each ram (400) includes a lower end (404) pivotably connected to the frame (16) and an upper end (402) pivotably connected to one of the sides of the mounting plate (310). The boom assembly (B), the mounting plate (310), and the pivotal member (330) pivot about the first pivot axis (380) and/or the second pivot axis (382) relative to the frame (16) due to relative movement of the rams (400).Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2008Date of Patent: December 6, 2011Assignee: Timberpro, Inc.Inventor: Patrick Lee Crawford

Patent number: 7874375Abstract: An attachment for a conventional, walk-behind power tiller for forming seed rows and adjacent furrows wherein an auger disposed perpendicularly to the seed row being formed has a larger diameter at its proximal ends and a smaller diameter at its central, inner end. The auger is rotated using power derived from the tiller to which the novel seed row forming apparatus is attached. In operation, the larger diameter outer portions of the auger dig a furrow and move the disturbed soil inwardly along the diminishing diameter of the auger, thereby depositing the soil from each side of the auger into a central berm or seed row. The apparatus provides seed row-forming capability for use with small rotary tillers and provides minimum soil tillage while readily forming planting rows.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2008Date of Patent: January 25, 2011Inventor: Dennis R. Patent number: 7305777Abstract: A snow throwing machine including a housing, an engine, an impeller and an auger for collecting snow and directing it to the impeller. The auger including an auger shaft disposed transversely in the housing and drivable by the engine, and a plurality of flytes mounted on the auger shaft. Each flyte includes a hub and a plurality of fins and is mounted on the auger shaft with a shear pin extending through the hub and auger shaft. The flytes are configured such that an outer peripheral edge of adjacent flytes forms a helix around the auger shaft directing snow toward the impeller.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2004Date of Patent: December 11, 2007Assignee: MTD Products IncInventors: Travis Kettering, Roy G. Patent number: 4354320Abstract: Snow removal apparatus for attachment to a rail vehicle in which a rotary snow plow having a pair of coaxial milling cylinders is mounted in a common housing and synchronously driven through a common drive transmission. The housing is mounted to the front end of the vehicle by a first supporting member extending along the width of the vehicle and securely fixed thereto and a second supporting member on which the rotary housing is pivotally held. The second supporting member is adapted to slidably engage with and be held on the first supporting member so that it may be laterally shifted in the horizontal plane, on the fixed supporting member from side to side of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1980Date of Patent: October 19, 1982Inventor: Alfred Schmidt
