  • Patent number: 11968112
Abstract: Examples include a coordinator device broadcasting a route request identifying a destination device, to neighbor routers over reception paths. The neighbor routers then store a respective route record, indicating each as an end node in an in-progress path from the coordinator device to the destination device, and rebroadcast the route request for reception by next increment router neighbors. The next increment router neighbors, responsive to receiving the rebroadcasts, estimate a quality between good hop and bad hop of their reception paths, and determine, as an evaluation total path quality, a quality of a candidate hop path from the coordinator device to the next increment router neighbor. The next increment router neighbors determine if they have extant hop connection to the coordinator device with path quality at least as good as the evaluation total path quality. If “no,”, the next increment router neighbor increments the hop sequence by one hop.

Abstract: The network control system of some embodiments implements logical port classifications to implement different features of logical networks onto a physical network. The network control system of some embodiments modifies flow entries at forwarding elements of the physical network to implement the logical network. The network control system classifies logical source and destination ports into disjoint equivalence classes for logical network flows in a virtualized network, and encodes this information in the tunneled traffic carrying the logical flow. The network control system of some such embodiments provides logical port classifications to minimize the necessary flow entries at each forwarding element of the physical network.

Abstract: Technologies are provided for managing routing updates for Internet Protocol (IP) addresses based on network traffic utilization. For example, a set of IP addresses can be obtained (e.g., IP addresses that are assigned to hosts). Network traffic utilization data can be obtained for the set of IP addresses. Using the network traffic utilization data, a subset of set of IP addresses can be identified reflecting which of the IP addresses are being utilized (e.g., that have network traffic utilization over a threshold amount for a previous time period). The utilized IP addresses can be included in a routing update, which can be provided to one or more routers. For example, the routing update can add routes for IP addresses that are being utilized. The routing update can also withdraw routes for IP addresses that are not being utilized.

Abstract: A wireless communication network modifies a non-Guaranteed Bit Rate (non-GBR) bearer through a wireless repeater chain into a Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) bearer. A wireless access node exchanges user data with User Equipment (UE) over the non-GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain. The wireless node monitors latency of the user data exchange over the non-GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain. When the latency of the non-GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain exceeds a latency threshold, the wireless node transfers a bearer modification request for the UE to a core packet network. The wireless node receives a bearer modification instruction for the UE from the core packet network to modify the non-GBR bearer into a GBR bearer. In response, the wireless node modifies the non-GBR bearer into the GBR bearer and exchanges user data with the UE over the GBR bearer through the wireless repeater chain.

Abstract: A packet forwarding network may include switches that perform network forwarding operations to forward network traffic between end hosts that are coupled to the packet forwarding network. An analysis network that is controlled by a controller may be coupled to the packet forwarding network. The analysis network and the packet forwarding network may overlap. Switches such as hybrid switches in the overlapping network portions may be controlled by the controller to copy network packets without interfering with the network forwarding operations of the packet forwarding network. The analysis network may include a central portion to which analysis tools are coupled and one or more isolated portions. The controller may control the client switches of the central portion and the isolated portions to establish tunneling paths through the forwarding network.

Abstract: Systems and methods for service period recovery in a wireless communications system are provided. An initial service period for transmitting data is assigned to a first remote station. Data period schedule information, including the assignment of the initial service period, is transmitted from a central station. In response to determining that the first remote station is not transmitting during the initial service period, a modified service period is assigned to the first remote station. A service period change announcement, including the assignment of the modified service period, is transmitted from the central station. In response to determining that the first remote station is not transmitting during the modified service period, the initial service period is truncated and a service period truncation is transmitted from the central station.

  • Patent number: 8891439
Abstract: A method of enabling extension of a network service of a first domain to a remote customer site hosted by an Access Gateway (AG) in a Provider Ethernet domain. In the first domain, the remote customer site is represented as being hosted by a border gateway (BG) connected to the Provider Ethernet domain, such that subscriber packets associated with the network service are forwarded to or from the remote customer site via the BG. In the Provider Ethernet domain, a trunk connection is instantiated through the Provider Ethernet domain between the host AG and the BG. A trunk cross-connection function is installed in the host AG, for transferring subscriber packets associated with the network service between a respective attachment virtual circuit (AVC) through which the remote customer site is connected to the host AG and an extended AVC tunnelled through the trunk connection.

  • Patent number: 8755742
Abstract: A new group call request is received from a subscriber station at a rest channel repeater at a first network location. Corresponding new group call notifications are then transmitted to each of the other network locations over a wide area network to a current one of the repeaters acting as a rest channel repeater at each of the other network locations. Subsequently, an identity of a traffic channel repeater hosting the new call is received from each of the respective other network locations. An over-the-air notification is transmitted to other subscriber stations at the first network location identifying one of the first rest channel and another available channel as a channel for the new group call. Data received from the first subscriber station is then forwarded to each of the identified traffic channel repeaters at each of the other network locations via the wide area network.
