Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a configuration indicating a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state switching pattern and a TCI state switching period to a user equipment (UE). The UE may perform TCI state switching according to the TCI state switching pattern and period, and the UE may receive a downlink transmission according to the TCI state switching pattern. The UE may receive a downlink control information (DCI) including an indication of a TCI state for a subsequent TTI. The UE may receive the downlink signal in accordance with both the TCI state switching pattern and the indication in the DCI. The UE may receive a configuration message indicating a first DCI state, receive a DCI indicating a second TCI state for a subsequent TTI, switch to the second TCI state, and receive a downlink signal using the second TCI state.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to reducing transmission latency in unlicensed spectrum. These latency reduction techniques include enabling ultra low latency (ULL) traffic to gain fast channel access. These latency reduction techniques further include updating a size of a contention window for channel access. In addition, these latency reduction techniques include enhancing CPDCCH-based signaling to accommodate the ULL frame structure. Further, these latency reduction techniques include providing robust operation against bursty interference for ULL transmissions. Moreover, these techniques include managing DRX for ULL. Additionally, these latency reduction techniques include joint scheduling of different TTI durations. These latency reduction techniques further include updating SRS transmission opportunities. In addition, these latency reduction techniques include reducing latency associated with PRACH transmissions.

Abstract: A communication device determines whether simultaneous transmissions in a first frequency segment and a second frequency segment are to be synchronized in time. In response determining that simultaneous transmissions in the first frequency segment and the second frequency segment are to be synchronized in time, the communication device transmits a first packet in the first frequency segment beginning at a first time, and transmits a second packet in the second frequency segment beginning at the first time. In response to determining that simultaneous transmissions in the first frequency segment and the second frequency segment are to be unsynchronized in time, the communication device transmits a third packet in the first frequency segment beginning at a second time, and transmits a fourth packet in the second frequency segment beginning at a third time that is different than the second time.

Abstract: A method and system for controlling air-interface resources on a radio-frequency (RF) carrier on which an access node provides wireless communication service. While the access node is set to apply at least two resource-reservations (e.g., PRB-reservations) that are mutually exclusive on the carrier, a computing system detects that resource-availability on the carrier is threshold low. And in response to the detecting, the computing system causes the access node to combine together the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier The combining together of the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier retains the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier but results in a reduction in aggregate total quantity of air-interface resources consumed by the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier.
